In conclusion those who have received a call first from DWP informing them that they have been successful have scored highly and therefore have been offered a position.

To those who have scored 30, have you been given a start? Just wanted to know which score DWP are currently at. Thank you ;)

This is not entirely true! I just got a call this afternoon from someone in Bromley saying I have got the job, and they offered me a choice I wasnt too keen on. My first few choices are not available as it goes. They emailed me the choices I had, and I need to make a decision by tomorrow.
I was 400+ on the waiting list..so there is hope!! I think once the HMRC confirm your employment history..its all systems go! The guy from Manpower said by end of week you shall hear something, and well, I did!
I will keep you posted on how the choice system works!!
Goodluck everyone, I hope it sails smoothly for us all! Im not holding my breath until I get an actual start date!
  • Congrats to all those getting start dates for irc 62979. What locations are you being offered? Just curious really..I have been working nealr 1 month now for previous Band B (AO) London wide irc exercise 61298.
  • Can someone clarify? I received my scotland disclosure certificate this week, but, haven't heard anything else. Should I now be expecting a call from HMRC...even though i have never been in employment?

Luckily i was offered my first choice which is Walthamstow in North East London Division.

Viper786, looks like ur close to probably getting a start date too, Just give them until the end of next week, coz it shouldnt take too long now. If you don't hear frm them by then, then give them a call!!

Viper, I think as you dont have an employment history to look into-it might take a little longer as they will need to check and clarify your references are legit. After that, you should be ready to go! Give it till say Tuesday, and then ring to see whats happening. It was over a week before I heard anything once I received my CRB...
  • Many apologies, I guess I was wrong. I'm glad I was wrong at least it gives me a little bit of hope.

    Yes please keep us posted!

Good luck to you too and to everyone else.

  • My dilemma is that I would like to work part-time, has anyone been offered a part-time position?

In addition I need to give a month's notice to my current employer, is this possible, as I've read on threads that they ring you 2 weeks before the start date?

    Please advise.

    Many thanks!

I was offered Walthamstow from North and North East even though I live in Central, lol. Anyways, regarding call two weeks before start, that is not always the case. They will call you and offer a start date whenever they have enough new recuits for induction and training courses.

When were you offered this, and is it IRC 62668?
  • yes, the post was advertised as 18 months but it seems that the goal posts have been changed. All Band B roles in Inner London are £19,040. All new recruits start at this.

Offers and start dates are all subject to business needs so when there is a need for staff in your district that is when you can expect to receive a call regarding an offer.

    Hope this helps

yes it does answers sum questions, you said goal post being changed!! have they shortened the contract? & if so what is it. many thanks
