  • Hi all.

Just an update, i recieved another email yesterday from my manager informing me of my 2 days training next week, luckily at the JCP where i will be based.

    Seems very efficient so far.

Still not received my CRB in the post, so thats no indicator of success etc.

Also have my EO interview next friday, so have a few more competencies to study and get notes together for....want to maintain my 100% pass mark for competency interviews.

On that note, i requested my feedback notes from my interview. Short but informative. Got them in the post, basically saying the answers etc i gave to the competency questions showed thorough research.

For info, i had 8 printed pages for my 4 AO competencies, detailing 'full' examples for all parts of each competency. I now need to expand and add to these for my EO interview notes.

    Aquababe...if your reading sorry for not replying to your message. From how you described your details i would say you based it on a similar frame as me, just make sure you present;

    i. The situation (What was the background, the scenario etc)
ii. The task (What the above situation would entail)
iii. The solution (How you went about it)
iv. The outcome (The result and benefit of all the above)
  • Sportycus..if you dont mind, how did you go about getting feed back for your interview?

My cousin had his EO interview yesterday in Selsdon for South London region..he said it was alot tougher than previous EO interviews he has had. The usual question about change did not come up, and he also said an example he had prepared for the leadership question proved difficult as they split the leadership question into 2 (as in used it to ask 2 of the 4 questions)..so be prepared for at least 2 examples of leadership and team management!

Havent heard anything yet, but friends who work for the DWP are already seeing new placements roll in for the south london region!! so looks like people who applied for the same one as me are getting their placements!

Don't know what is happening about my job application
I have had the tests (literacy and numeracy) - passed
    I have been interviewed (passed)
My CRB clearance came through a fortnight ago
I had to see a DWP Doctor last month

None of my referees have been approached yet

I have not heard a thing for weeks now and am starting to get slightly concerned
However - why would DWP go to the expense and effort of getting me CRB checked - unless they planned on making me a Job offer ?

I have no idea what my scores were! To tell you the truth I didn't even bother phoning up to check what was happening with the application because Ive been applying for so many jobs since I graduated.

But was quite suprised that DWP got back to me quite quick coz reading this thread seems like people have waited around ages!!

Would have been helpful but it's ok.

When did you receive your CRB clearance?

Well i got a call from someone at DWP on 23rd Nov, saying that they have recieved my disclosure certificate ( they didnt say anything about sending it on to me though) and wanted to find out what I had been doing for the past 3 years as there was a gap in my employment. Told them I was at uni and then had to scan my degree cert and email it to the guy.

Then on the 28th got a call saying that I had been successful and wil commence work on 7th.

In conclusion those who have received a call first from DWP informing them that they have been successful have scored highly and therefore have been offered a position.

To those who have scored 30, have you been given a start? Just wanted to know which score DWP are currently at. Thank you ;)
