  • Not much of an update, but it's progress... one of my referees got in touch to say they'd heard from DWP and she'd sent off my reference to them. Just good to know that the ball is actually rolling.

That's regarding reference 62230/Chester, by the way.

    Hi Jamie,
Did you ever find out what number you are on the waiting list, I cant get through to the number it just keeps ringing out.
I still haven't heard anything about the other job, have you heard anything else about that. Maybe I should call up about that as I received the automated response and then nothing.
    Good luck on Sunday.
    Kate
  • Eesh, how the heck do you do quotes?? Bearing in mind i'm using a mobile phone on here. An EO that can't spell? Not much use really. A reasonable command of the English language isn't too much to ask, is it?
  • I suppose that's one way of making money. Any takers?
  • the last time i applied they gave you a list of competencies so really you knew what questions to expect. Do they still do this?havent u had this Danjackson?
Iv got to take my certificate tommorrow to prove iv passed the numeracy and literacy tests then interview in on thurs in Birmingham
I passed my DWP numeracy and literacy tests 14/9/09. I got 14/15 for literacy and 20/20 for the numeracy. I have applied for an EO role in Birmingham. I have taken the competency interview a few days later. Does anyone know how they notify you and how long it takes to know if you have been successful or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    For Building Capabailty - knowledge skills/share knowledge/improve a team's performance

I used an example such as maximising sales profit and that said I try to be flexible and look for alternatives that work and offer the same or a better solution for the customer. MSE is a great example, teaching people to do things in a different way with the same or a much better result (saving money or getting extras). I also mentioned how I self taught myself to do things to expand my knowledge within the role and improve my own skills. Therefore being able to pass my knowledge on to the team.

I hope this helps you and good luck for tomorrow!

    Hi guys

I have my interview tomorrow for an EO job and was wondering if anyone here can give me some pointers for the interview?

For those that went for the EO job, what sort of questions did they ask? Can you remember any specific questions?
If I remember correctly, I was asked tell me a time when you motivated someone?

Another was explain how you have delivered a professional service

I think another may have been Tell me a time when you have implemented service improvements.

Managing people and performance, what tools did you use and what was the outcome

Not sure of the others, I hope this helps you and good luck!
  • Hi guys,

just wondering...i recieved a call from manpower inviting me for the written test for the last EO london position.....but the funny thing about this call is that the guy said my passport photo must be signed and stamped by either an accountant,Gp or a solicitor......is this a new rule or what cos is a bit strange.....as for the irc...am just too lazy to check my inbox....but is the last EO posted in the london region....any feedback is well appreciated.the test is at Hilton Hotel croydon.
I just had to sign and date the passport photo myself in front of a manpower rep. I hope this helps you
