  • Oh dear!!! Silly Silly Mr Tesco. They put so much effort into keeping customers loyal all year with their clubcard scheme, discounts on petrol and expensive ads. What on earth is going on with them?Cancelling thousands of orders at a time when people will be spending as much as they can afford on the Christmas shop and no working codes!!I feel that this will do a great deal of damage to Mr T and I hope that all people who have a choice will vote with their feet and their purses and wallets and trundle off to Asda,Sainsbury's ,Morrisons Lidles.Nettos,Aldi and wherever else they will be treated with respect and rewarded for their custom.Who do they think they are? operating some kind of selective system where some customers get priority over others and threatning to freeze some customers accounts because they dare to want to book a delivery slot.If Sainsbury's Asda and the rest are "savvy"they will take advantage of Mr T's stupity.Let's all do our bit to draw it to their attention.I hope everyone who has been badly let down by Tesco manages to make alternative arrangements.I'm off to Asda!!!
  • Is it possible that the slots that were showing as available (and now mainly gone reading the previous posts) are just the priority ones? I'm wondering if, when the 30th rears it's ugly head, they will release more slots?

Perhaps it is so many customers per area, so in some areas you would need to spend say £100 every week of the year, whereas in other areas, you may only need to spend £70 amount over so many weeks of the year?

Shoddy though, isn't it! If they are going to so something like this, the criteria should be made clear imo.

They'll learn though, if enough people go elsewhere. :T

Threads like this make me wonder how much time they spend looking at sites like this and getting 'feedback'?
  • understand what you're saying parahandy, but after all this, who cares! Mr T can go stuff themselves for xmas!! complete PR disaster, 10,000 orders cancelled, what are they thinking? do you even think the 'people' that make the decisions even know about this, wouldn't surprise me in the least if it doesn't even filter thru to them until the next management meeting...fools!

I think someone should go to the meeja with this ;) ... any ideas who best to approach?

    Radio, papers, tv?

How about GMTV or This Morning? We need to target the housewife audience ;)

  • Hi

Please could someone confirm or not whether their order was cancelled EVEN THOUGH they had had an email 'order confirmation'?

ie: I have had an email confirmation of my order so will they still telephone and cancel it? DOH!

    thanks

Yes, I had an email confirmation but they still telephoned me to cancel it - leaving a message on my ansaphone.

    So rude!!

    Hi Kate,

Yes, I had an order confirmation email and amended my order twice (each time they send you a new confirmation), but still they called me to say it had been cancelled. Mind you, maybe they'll start to have a change of heart as it's only tomorrow night when they open up the Christmas slots, so maybe they'll think it's not worth the bother. Good luck! I decided to do mine with Waitrose and booked up a delivery slot for the 23rd without any fuss or problems, so that's me happy!
  • Yep I had an email confirmation and they still cancelled.
What I don't get is why cancel and pee lots of people off, when those people are still spending money in the shop?
A more sensible thing to have done was let it ride this year and tighten up next year
