Hi gailey
I find once the beginning of the month is over I don't really have much more extra month to pay...so I end up wishing the month away....I'm trying to just be thankful with what I manage to pay off rather than be stressed and wish I could get it all paid off today! Whatever we end up managing is a good thing!!0 -

I asked this question too earlier in the thread. It's fascinating isn't it? I consider myself quite well paid but I can't get near anything like the amounts some people are paying off. I do have a big mortgage and heavy childcare costs, but we both work full time so I had expected there to be much more extra than there is. I might keep a spending diary from next week when I get paid, just to see what it all goes on.0 -
Paid off another £506.40 to mortgage today. Got another £2.62 coming fro Quidco. Also emptied spaghetti jar of 1,2 and 5ps and got £14.00 out. That £14 is going in the holiday pot!

Hello everyone,
Following the receipt of my credit card statement today, advising that they were putting up my APR, again, to 20.9%I've emptied my saving for a rainy day fund and paid £1000 off.
It makes me so upset - I've not missed a single payment, but the APR has steadily increased to the point where it is now double what it was. The most annoying part is that the card had a £5k limit when I got it, which steadily rose to £15k. I asked to have it reduced to £1500 which they did, but now its back up to £10k. Surely if I'm credit worthy enough to borrow this much I shouldn't be saddled with such a massive APR?
Anyway - another £1000 paid off, just hope I don't need any emergency funds now.

evening all!
most of my dd's have come out now (other than my mahoosive loan payment) so total paid to date is £1640.10 (since december). have also made an overpayment to my A&L CC of £31.70 as this is my next target.
im really struggling this month though, havent spent anything on food other than bread & milk and will have to try and carry on doing this til the end of the month... luckily freezers and cupboards are full, think i'll be heading over to the OS board for some tips!Jan GC £0/£2000 -
£100 has been taken off my overdraft today, I have reduced my overdraft to £100 so next month will be my last payment.
Also managed to transfer both my credit cards to another 0% card so will be tackling that, so need to set up online payments.Mortgage £25,789.17/£24,918.14/£22,921.47

I understand what you're saying, but as a side issue, why do people bother asking to have their credit limit reduced? Just cos it's there you don't have to use it! I've got £40,000 of cedit available to me at the moment but I'm planning on never using it again (fingers crossed)...0 -

It can also help to repair your credit score if you reduce the amount of unused credit you have available to you.
