£2.07 put in my ISA this morning, which will go on my credit card when the 0% is going to run out. Felt a bit silly just putting that in, but it's better in my bank than theirs!0

I'm still making slow progress with this one but felt that I needed to post to keep my motivation up. I applied for a new 0% CC last night so I can transfer the balance across and I have another DD coming out in a few days time. I have been transferring some extra cash into a separate account which I will pay off at my next payday just to make sure that I don't end up dipping into my overdraft! I need to get back into clearing out my junk and so should get some more things sold on ebay which I will put straight towards the debt. I may also have a little bit extra money coming my way although I'm not sure when or how much this will be...but i'm back to work after maternity leave soon so I should also have a little more money available to get nearer to my target!
Well done everyoneDebts all paid!!!:j0 -
HI All,
Well, no extra payments so far, just the £120.20 has gone out for the new loan that covers my overdraft and my old cc (which has now been removed from sight lol) only the car payment to go - i really need to try and work out how to get some more cash in or otherwise i will only be making my basic payments.
Puzzled x0 -
grrr, i had nearly £300 set aside for extra payments but now i need to spend it on getting my car fixed! how annoying ...but... if i hadn't agreed to this challenge then I suppose I wouldn't have that money saved so it could be alot worse. Just wanted a bit of a rant, sorry!Debts all paid!!!:j0

Some money came in from my amazon sales this morning which I've put to one side until I see what size tax bill I get (should be very small but then I have to pay my accountant too). So that will be another bit off my debt hopefully, later this month.0

Thanks for the replies, everyone, about how you pay off so much. I do *most* of what was mentioned, and yet I still seem not to be making inroads into paying off anything significant
In 2007, and early 2008, I was a regular on the £10 a day challenges and did all the freeebie bingo etc, as well as mystery shopping (which I still do), clicks, surveys etc but kind of lost heart last year with it all. The only thing I never got into was matched betting, I just can't get my head around it, despite reading the thread about a hundred times!! Athough I haven't gained any more debt, I haven't dropped any either and decided that I'd get backon the wagon again, so to speak!
Trouble is, working full time (on a fairly low income), studying two courses, being a single parent and trying to keep the house off the environmental health's radar is literally exhausting me and it's *so* hard to have the energy to do much else. It sounds like excuses, but it's genuinely not, I know only I can do this and I need to just get on with it - it just seems so insurmountable! Probably doesn't help that I'm very overweight and suffering with depression
Anyway, didn't mean to hijack or go on about myself (!), just wanted to check there wasn't anythign I was missing out on :rotfl:GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

I know how you feel SpendaholicChick - sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day.
I'm getting up half an hour earlier than the rest of the house at the moment and claiming that time to get through daily clicks, list a few books on GreenMetropolis/Amazon (CDs are next!) and bag up things for the charity shop. Yesterday morning I switched gas & electric through Quidco - felt fab telling dp I'd made £70 (cashback) before he'd even got out of bed - if only I could switch every week! :T
I'm just trying to reverse the flow of money - so much seems to go out, and I'm now trying to entice some in the opposite direction...:rotfl:
Anyway - paid another £150 off CC today, expecting refund from old energy supplier anytime now - which is just as well as my tax disc is due at the end of the month...ho hum! Oh well, hopefully the former will land before the latter's due - if so there'll still be a bit left over towards the target.
Updating sig now - great to see everyone's figures adding up! :beer:0 -
spendaholic, you are not missing out on anything - it is just that we all have different priorities.....I make sure that every penny extra goes straight off the debt - it doesn't have time to hang around and risk being used for anything else - so if I get £3 from pinecone, I immediately pay £3 to my egg loan.....if I get £7 for a mystery shop, I pay £7 that day to the egg loan.....that way, the debt goes down slowly but surely, and that little bit quicker, and I don't really notice the difference....
We all have to prioritise - at the moment I am trying to fit in my marathon training, so am not doing so much of the matched betting/mystery shopping etc, because I am out running a lot, and my housework has NEVER been top of my list, so my house looks shamefully horrific!
So, don't beat yourself up about it, please! Just be proud of the fact that the debt IS coming down, and you are not increasing it - a few years ago, you would be getting further and further into debt instead, I'm sure, so you have made fantastic progress!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
