Yikes hypno thats some interest charge!
I paid £40 loan today and queue was so bad they were queueing outside the bank! So total paid off for dec 2008 is as my signature says £130 feels stupidly low compared to others!
Anyway had a shock today looked at latest barclaycard bill today in detail and noticed £12charge for going over limit must be intrest as was careful what i spent and then i cast my eyes over %percetage rates and realised im paying £26.9% which is like £25 a month and my minimum paymnets will barly make a dent!
Im sure it never used to be that rate? so am determined its the debts i need to clear first and will try and pay double the mimimum payments each month to give me fighting chance.
Definatly signing up for £10 a day janauary and probably all year as need to pay it all off.
got £300 barclays overdfraft to pay
another £40 loan
£60 credit card(double the minimum payment)

2009 gona be great! Everyones being so negative and maonaing about economy and they fail to do anything about it as they still spend loads on tat in sales.
Will do grocery challange again this month determined to keep to budget!

paid a bit more off the A&L card today £56 from a refund from an M&S coat I ordered in the sale in early december and never received so have paid almost a thousand off since I joined the challenge which was half way through Dec I think, really want to make a determined effort in 2009, my mortgage should be going down from 1st Feb (as it's reviewed annually and I am on a tracker!!!) so I want to make the most of the teeny payments before interest rates go back up again, it should give us almost £2k a month to throw at the debt, but at least £600 of that will go back on in interest charges grrrAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

My challenge is to clear £10,000 by Xmas 2009....Big challenge but have ended 2008 on a high note so hopefully can continue this for 2009!!! Good luck to all, whatever your personal challenge is!Debt at lightbulb moment (June 2007) was £31,738.19Debt as of 1st January 2010 was £21,905.82
Current debts total as of July 2014 £4,3000 -
hi £5 direct debit to M&S today just one more DD to come out on 31st December and that will be me for this month.
Took a handbag that I had bought before xmas in a mad indulgence back today and got a full refund but i won't count that in as I hadn't got my statement in with that on anyway:rolleyes:0 -
Been having a think tonight about how I can do better as some you paid off huge amounts which makes me feel rubbish however I then thourght I paid £130 in decememebr when I had xmas food and presents to pay for!
I have no income at moment as dont work so rely on just ebaying like mad last 6months.
My child benefit is swallowed up buy me being over my overdraft limit due bank charges which seems impossible to get out of last few months as all I get is cb for 1 child so I think I done ok and plan to do more in january definatly.
I used all xmas money to pay offd debts but did treat myself to reduced bath treats and bag in superdrug sale £3.50!
So im trying to stay positive I can do this. Good luck everyone havent actualy informed oh of this challange as he think im mad! Im sure maybe at halfway point if i do well and show him he will be amazed.
Plan is pay off my debts then help hubby with is as mine are 5000/9000 so hopefully achieve mine halfway point.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

I worked out how much had been paid last night, and it's actually about MINUS £2k because we've used overdrafts for some work on the house. So I'm really going to have to get my finger out if I'm going to manage this - going backwards isn't really the start that I had in mind!0

Hi, can you add me to the £20k by Xmas 2009 list please.
If I manage this and the live on £4k in 2009 challenge then I should be well on the way to being debt free by the middle of 2010.
I'm trying to convince myself that the more challenges I put my name to, the more I'm likely to stick to them as everyone else will be able to see how well (or badly) I'm doing from my signature!LBM 22.12.08 £31,526 Debt at 29.12.08 £30,781 DFW Nerd 1105
