I have just fitted a free eaga showersmart which I got from http://www.eaga.com/showersmart/ . It took me 10 seconds to do it and according to the blurb this should result in-
- The eaga ShowerSmart is suitable for all non-electric showers and regulates the flow rate of a shower to 7.8 litres per minute – the equivalent of a powerful electric shower
- For mains-pressure showers (where hot water comes from a combi-boiler or similar), this saves both water and the associated energy with heating hot water.
- For a 2-person household, the eaga ShowerSmart will typically save more than 12,000 litres per year*, cut carbon emissions by 1 tonne* of CO2 over its lifetime and save about £20* on gas and £20* on water bills (where metered) per year.
- For the average family, this would equate to savings of about £30 off their gas bills and over £30 off their water bills (where metered) per year.

That sounds a very useful gadget for the shower Jim. And did you try the quorn? My favourite is the beef flavour which is odd 'cos I've never liked real beef.
I use it just about anywhere I'd use meat or poultry.
Mrs. P. - I have to congratulate you after taking a look at your signature! You are making a huge dent in your challenges. :AMiggy

Just used the shower and it was fine, the temperature was constant and with it turned on full it was an ample flow, not as powerful as it was which was too much, very happy and I recommended 100%. glad to see you have ordered one. Have now got my shopping sorted out, I buy food at aldi and other things at Tesco such sweeteners, salad onion crispys. I am getting through so much salad/vegtables at the moment and they are defintly cheaper at aldi.0

Jim, glad you have got your shopping sorted. It really does make a big difference money-wise and weight-wise too!!
Am still listing items on Ebay!!Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
What are you selling on ebay? Being a bloke I have nothing I want to get rid of.0

Jim you are just like my DH (his name is Jim too). He is a great hoarder and has over 40 years worth of stuff. During the last six months he has "seen the light" and started to sort some of his treasures out and that is what we are selling - toy soliders at the moment which are actually raising quite a substantial amount.
If you have loads of stuff that never see the light of day then what is the point in keeping them? I never used to feel like that till a few years ago.
Other things I list are clothes, bric a brac, knitting wool, knitting patterns, ornaments, handbags, books, crockery etc. To be honest, I have found that people will buy anything (I used to before my LBM). Just check on Ebay and see if anyone is listing anything you have and what it is worth. Most of my things go for a few pounds, but it all mounts up. The day will arrive when I don't have anything to sell though!
I got a new camera two Christmas' ago and sold my old one and all the attachments and lenses etc plus all my old camera bags and all that lot covered the cost of the new camera!
Good luck.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
well I left the house early this morning for my 3 mile drive to work. I drove maybe 20 feet until I gave up and abandoned the car and trudged back to the front door, back inside after just 10 minutes. Never going to get to work today, and if I did from what I hear I may never get back again. I haven't seen snow like this ever on the south coast and I've been here for 8 years, even back op'north not for 15 years. Looks like I 'll be ploughing thru series 6 of the west wing on boxset today !0
