I love the eat for a fiver thread Lilian, will take more time to read this eve.
I love the whole experince of the Indian take away, sitting there while its cooked hearing the sizzling sounds, the smells. The owner always comes and has a few words, you get to read last years free papers. driving home and eating bits of poppadom, driving carefully so the bag dosent tip over.
I think the above is a good demonstration of why I have sruggled with my weight.

glad you're sticking with the diet!! I was wavering slightly today at lunchtime but stuck with the home made veggie soup with soup cous cous thrown in at the last minute!

    Jim,

Here's a recipe for you to spice up your chicken salad - its a very old Weight Watchers one:

Mix some natural yogurt with curry powder
    add chopped up cooked chicken
add chopped up dried apricots and some sultanas and/or raisins
mix up - will keep in fridge for 2 - 3 days
Just before you eat it add some chopped banana and mix well
There you have an extremely low fat version of Coronation Chicken and it tastes delicious.

Couldn't you take comfort in the fact that all that dried fruit counts towards your five a day?!

Thanks Mrs Porridge, I had this for tea (though I forgot the banana) - I used 1 tsp mild curry powder to 1/2 a litre of yogurt which worked well but it could have been stronger. The apricot & sultanas were really nice. Oh, and I made mine with Quorn as I prefer that, and it certainly went well. Would be nice in a packed lunch...

I've got a load of quorn in the freezer which I haven't got around to using....until now ! will give it a try over the weekend.
Diet still going okay woth no problems, looking forward to the Tuesday morning weigh in.
My Dad is going into hospital this morning to have his kidney stones looked at, apparently his kidney is half the size it should be and Dr's belive one of the pipes may be blocked by the stone, but he feels no discomfort and is fairly cool about it. As my car is working fine now I have told my folks I will be returning my Mums saxo next week, my Dad has offered to come down on the train and pick it up as he has more time then me, this will make my week a lot easier so am very grateful (i think dad wants a night out in Brighton !). Still fantasing about the custard I ate (forceably) on Tue night . Hope eveyone is good. Jim.

    Hi Jim,

Forget about the custard its over and done with now, just focus on how well you have done so far. Another tip that might help is to say to yourself I want a biscuit (or whatever it is) and just eat one - whereas before your diet you might have eaten 4!! I always say I have been bad, but could have been a lot worse. Its all about damage limitation.

Miggy - glad you enjoyed the Coronation Chicken!

Just has a call from Joseph @ css collections on behalf of Nationwide, saying that they haven't received any money or heard from Payplan yet. I have had an email from Payplan to say that my case how now been passed to client support but have not yet had the oppertunity to call them yet to see what is happening. I am not worried as they pronanly have the money and are just using it as a tacticf to get more. As of now until Monday I have 38p- I think this is the first time in my life when I couldn't go out and buy a pint. (or a stamp!). bummer.
