Did you do the Aldi shop, and if so, how did it go?

I was thinking the same thing!

Did you know .......... so many of their products have won food awards. Mayo, coleslaw and the smoked salmon (is that OS? - Don't care - It is nearly Christmas!!!) they did just before last Christmas, ooh and nearly forgot, their Christmas pud.

How have you been feeling today?

Hi Piglet ! Just been to Aldi and spent £21. Reckon that would normally cost £30 in Tesco. Aldi prepared salad is 79p, I was paying £1.50 in Tesco.
Had a call from Payplan today to advise me they are sending some paperwork out and will be calling me back 1 week today.
I am going to try to claim back my Bank charges from First Direct, I have no idea how much they will be but over six years I am sure that it will add up. Not sure how to go about it though as I no longer have access to the account through internet banking- do I just write to them and ask them ? Any idea's on what my chances of success may be ? Has anybody else done it ?

I know - the savings are a real eye-opener! They do a brochure thingy each week which details what's coming up on the 'specials' days (Thursday and Sunday). Mostly household stuff but also food specials esp at this time of year.

Last year we got all our Christmas drinks and nobody knew the difference!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good to hear that Payplan have sent you some paperwork and also good to hear that they telephoned you. When you have gone through a roller-coaster ride of a week sometimes you feel a bit 'flat' and want things to happen to keep the momentum going.

Just wanted to post here to say i know exactly how you were feeling and exactly how you are feeling now. I was in a similar situation at the beginning of the year, and whilst i am slightly different in that i earn more than my outgoings, i was still managing to spend too much before hand. But now i am managing to pay back between £300 and £400 per month.

Life is so much better when you can answer the phone and answer the door as well and you don't have to worry about it every day.

I don't know how good you are on computers, in particular excel but i created a spreadsheet which has really helped me to keep on top of everything. If you would like to look at it, and even use it then let me know and i can pm it to you.

But anyway, congratulations on sorting it out, i can guarantee life will get better and better now. I still get most of the things i want, just not straight like i used to.

Thanks Mowen81 and miggy- I had no idea I was compulsive reading, but I don't mind I find the fact that 4933 people have read this and many have commented as kind of comforting in a strange human sort of way. I have decided to keep on posting as a record of my progress/improvement and if people take an interest and read it or even better add to it, well fantastic, you are more than welcome. As I have prev said I will attack bank charges next. Have no idea how much they will be but 1 charge a month @ £35 over 6 years is £2520. OMG. I am sooo going after the bank charges. RAS i will be looking at that link that you sent me. Right now.
    I hope everyone is ok.
