I advised what I was doing regarding payplan and told him time-scales. He was very polite and professional, I offered my payplan ref number and he thanked me and wished me a good day. I can't get over how simple and straight forward that was. I've been putting off that call for a year.
Brilliant.
It's funny but I remember after having my LBM I actually wanted the creditors to contact me (well for a short period of time LOL) because it meant that I knew exactly where I was with everything (cos at that stage I had hidden the post for a very very long time). Then once I had spoken to them and told them I was doing a (DIY) DMP they left me alone. I stopped feeling anxious every time the phone rang or the post came. I know your situation is a bit different but having made the decision to get things sorted you kinda want to get them sorted as quickly as poss IYSWIM;)

What is an LBM ? do I need one for the next time they call? You are right about almost wishing for the phone to ring. I've just missed a call from an 0870 number whilst in the kitchen, I do hope it wasn't a missed opportunity to see if they would have been as polite and professional as the last caller ! Still feeling pretty positive, although I have a nagging voice revolving around my head and it keeps chanting "why didn't you do this sooner ! stoopid!"0

This made me smile! You have been avoiding the post for so long, perhaps more doesn't belong to you?! Here's hoping...
(I once had a debt collector come around for the woman who owned the house before me and ask for money from ME, and it was GREAT when i just produced some ID and said 'not me, mate' and he had to tootle off and leave me alone. He was big and scary looking too!)
Things certainly look like they are looking up. Glad you are feeling better.
Take care (((hugs))0 -
Nice one Laura ! I bet you had the biggest grin as he tootled off !!!!0
