Wow moo cow - I love that phrase:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: !!! Sums things up perfectly.

Seriously - Morning Jim. Feel a bit guilty for noseying in on your thread but I am so chiffed you are feeling better. Sorry nothing to add just that you are with people that know exactly how you are feeling. I felt like you a little while ago and it was through reading other peoples threads and absorbing the advice given by everyone that I feel like a huge weight has shifted.

I hope you have a good day today hun

it seems to be a common theme that everyone starts out feeling trapped with no way out, but sitting down with a cup of tea, pen and paper, calculator and advice of others seems to guide you to the answers. I just can't wait to get everything organised with payplan and get through 1 month where I know everything has been paid. If everyone else has done it then surely I can do.

good morning worried jim, piglet39, good morning all. thrilled to hear you're feeling much more positive. You'll find your head will be a lot clearer and more together now jim. I know mine has. I felt unbelievably down on monday and didn't know if I was going to get through another day. But after posting here I have had so much support I feel better than I have done in a VERY long time. Have made clear and decisive moves. and that's what this board, and these lovely lovely people do for you. Even in darkest hours they are there to let little chinks of light in.

    good on you jim

    You are so right Jim.

Debt is seen by some as being some thing that is shameful and that is why it is so hard to talk. I (and OH) got ourselves in a complete pickle. What made it worse was not telling him (I hid the problems from him) or anyone else. I only wish I had found this site a couple of years ago.

I feel proud that I have acknowledged my debts. You can do this and you have made many friends that will help and support you on the way!:j

ditto what piglet said jim. on both counts lol! 22k in debt, £4500 of which is outstanding (at £122 p.m) on a car that's parked on the garden as it's very expensive computerised gearbox has blown up and we can't find any way out of it. But i'm still smiling (wasn't on monday) as I know that I have help and support, and now a lovely old very tidy car given to us free of charge to get us mobile again. I've had a really rotten 12 months jim, myself as have a lot of people on these boards but thanks to everyone on these boards LIFE IS GOOD AGAIN! and the broken car? will get a recon gearbox hopefully within the next 6 months (waiting on lots of reclaims) and then will trade the thing in to get rid. and hopefully get rid of that debt too. I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER.........................

Thanks moo cow and piglet ! Just has a call from Joseph @ commercial Collection Services regarding £963 owed to Nationwide credit card. I advised what I was doing regarding payplan and told him time-scales. He was very polite and professional, I offered my payplan ref number and he thanked me and wished me a good day. I can't get over how simple and straight forward that was. I've been putting off that call for a year.

    Great progress Jim.

When you get a call that's not professional or polite, don't get angry or upset about it - just come back and we'll give you a few pointers on how to deal with them. Take a note of the company name so you know they are one of the ones you don't want to talk to.

    Keep up the good work.

well done jim, what a great result! I wish all companies would be happy to take a bit less. after all, we're just acknowledging our debts and would like the opportunity to pay them back at a reduced rate until either they are paid in full or until we are able to resume normal levels of payment. surely this is a far better solution than 'forcing people off the road' so to speak with worry. These are hard times and I think we should all be congratulated on the fact that we're dealing with them, moving on with whatever action is appropriate for us all and learning by mistakes (although in my case it's 2nd time around).

    A BIG WELL DONE JIM!
