Payplan are a very good bunch, I'm sure they'll help you deal with a lot of the strain. It's still going to be a long road to recovery, but there's plenty of people here wishing you the best - keep us posted with how things go :)
  • I haven't been around for a few days so hadn't seen this thread and It has given me a warm glow (which is good as I am skimping on the heating)

Well done Jim for getting so sorted and for having come so far already, I look forward to seeing more about how you are getting on.

    All the best.

Hi Jim. Just read the thread. So good to see your attitude change from negative to positive. Made me smile!

Looks like you are doing a first class job in getting sorted .
  • Just checked in and delighted to hear things are going well. I have no doubt now you are determined to tackle it you will feel more in control. Yes there will still be time when it sucks to be honest - but you have started that journey and there will be plenty of people around to share it with you.

You are quite right ! I have already had a look around loads of different threads (you can spend all day on here!) that are interesting, including loads that that turn into arguments with each poster slagging off the previous, they all tun into online scraps. v.funny.:T

    Hi Jim,

Just wanted to say well done for getting things sorted out :j. All you need to do now is keep us updated on how things are going.

I'm really pleased to see how things have changed for you since you had your light bulb moment. Personally, I'm really looking forward to having a Christmas, were I don't have to worry about how I'm going to pay it off afterwards.

I have found the lovely people at Payplan very very helpful and wish I had found them and this site sooner, maybe then I wouldn't be so far in the do-do as I was when I had my LBM. Thanks to them, I feel that for the first time in 10 years I feel in control of my debt and money. I hope they do the same for you.

Good luck on the rest of your DFW journey, Terri

Did you know you are compulsive reading?! I haven't said welcome yet because I don't have the expertise to contribute, apart from pointing you in the direction of Old Style, which has already been mentioned, but I wanted to say how impressed I am with how you're tackling this.
Did you do the Aldi shop, and if so, how did it go?
By the way, quails' eggs are okay for Old Style, but only if home produced or a freebie :D . So don't feel you have to give up all the good stuff, just become ingenious about getting it for less. ;)
    (And you will ;) ).
