i have a friend who is diabetic who sometimes feels like that when she is ill - like you say, she doesn't feel like eating but has to make herself so that she maintains her insulin/food balance.

it would be good if you could meet up with fellow old hand diabetics locally for some support:)

My friend was on a 'no fat' diet prior to having her gall bladder removed. Now that was interesting! or not, as in the food she was eating.

Try to see if there is any pattern when you take your "wobbles", for example, have you been more active, has your food intake contained less carbs, was your meal later than usual? I normally feel sick after a hypo. Approximatley ten years ago I was doing fifty blood glucose tests a day now it is beween twelve and fifteen a day but I don't mind as it gives me peace of mind to know what my blood glucose is and helps me to achieve better long term control.

You'll get to the stage were you will not even notice yourself doing your blood glucose readings and you'll wonder did you take your medication. It becomes second nature like everything else. You have only been diagnosed a few weeks give yourself the chance to adjust, it can take some people years and others never accept it.

Previously for lunch I've always had chicken salad but yesterday I had tuna instead so I am guessing it was this. I am back on the chicken today. At about 3pm yesterday my blood dropped to 2.1 from an average of 7 but the biscuits fixed that. Feel fine today and looking forward to having my first work free weekend in two and a half years.
