Hey Jim, I'm just catching up after a few weeks away. How're you feeling now?
Sounds like the Doc is well on the way to sorting you out. Great to hear your sleep has improved so much - makes a huge difference to your quality of life, eh? (You can see why they use sleep depravation as torture!)
I saw a poster a year or two ago that said anyone over 40 and overweight (which is me for sure) should get tested for Diabetes... best to catch it early as possible. I totally recommend everyone to get a free checkup! (My own glucose is fine, but Cholesterol and BP high, so I'm sorting that out via diet/exercise with doc's help.)
Onwards and upwards!0 -
Jim, how are you keeping?0

I have a drawer at work with digestive biscuits and dextrose tablets so got that angle covered. Had another clinic review on the phone today and my meds are going to stay the same for the time being and I am to call for another review in a weeks time, but they are pleased that I have everything under control in such a short time. I sometimes find it hard to draw enough blood to test but today I bled every where all over my desk- typical. Loads of people have been asking if I am all right after Tuesdays episode.0

Are you feeling better and still sleeping well?0

A drunk man who smelled like whiskey sat down on a bench in a subway
station, next to a priest.
The man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick,
and a half empty bottle of Jim Beam was sticking out of his torn coat
pocket.
He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few minutes the
man turned to the priest and asked, 'Say Father, what causes
arthritis?'
The priest replies, 'My Son, it's caused by loose living, being with
cheap wicked women, too much alcohol, contempt for your fellow man,
sleeping around with prostitutes, and lack of a bath.'
The drunk muttered in response, 'Well, I'll be damned,' then returned
to his paper.
The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and
apologized.
'I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to come on so strong. How long have
you had arthritis?'
The drunk answered, 'I don't have it, Father. I was just reading here
that the Pope does.'0 -

My car insurance renewal has just come thru and it has gone up by over 30% yet I have another year of blemish free driving. They are obviously hoping that I will not bother to shop around and they make an easy profit. Well I gave them a call and played merry hell with them, I now have my renewal cheaper than last year. I hate these companies treating me like a mug so I have gone from a bill for £322.56 to £199 with the same company which I know form price comparison websites is the best deal I could get.0

Did you remember to tell them that you are now a diabetic?0 -

Good job I had the digestives stashed at work as I had a "wobble" this afternoon. Feel really sick now, I know that I am hungry but I really cant face my dinner. Have picked some more testing strips up from the chemist on a repeat prescription and I need to book an appointment with my local Dr's as they want to see me. I am really bored of this now and fed up of making myself bleed six times a day and just want some white toast with butter and full fat coke.0
