Post has been edited. I have been thanked over 2000 times so helped one or two.
Martin does refer to his guide in the first post of this thread.
There is a lot of excellent flight money saving on this Forum, including the easyJet remove flight method which has been mentioned a few times before the recent guide update, and a good hunt around is worth it.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Very easy to deal with this one really - stop flying Ryanair. They are little more than sky pirates. In particular, their debit card charges and charges for the tortuous online checkin process are absolutely despicable. I flew my last Ryanair flight this summer when they told me it would cost £120 to change my flights when I accidentally booked the wrong airport, the following day after my booking. This was giving them six months notice. Ryanair is the most horrible, money-grubbing, tightwad company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with and I will never use their services again.0

Latest from Ryanair is if you don't check in online, they rip you off for checking in at the desk too. But not everyone has access to computers for booking or checking in, so how do they feel? I have travelled with Ryanair several times, but I have never been able to do it for a £1!! Last time I booked a flight for my Daughter from Bristol and I paid in euro's as I am in France and guess What I got charged extra for paying that way! Have you seen how many millions they made this last financial year? He is laughing all the way to the bank!:mad:0

I've read a few posts over the years in the time I've been reading this forum, but have never come across one which includes soooo many first time posters, not anywhere near the number. Funny that !!
Also amazing how those who have never used the services of Ryanair seem to know soooo much about how the airline operates and what type of service can be expected.
Isn't it easy to join the BANDWAGON and have no opinions of your own !
OF COURSE HE DOESN'T, BECAUSE IF HE DID HE WOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESSThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
I live in England and have been flying with Ryanair to Southern Ireland since they started. I have lost count of the number of times I have
flown with them, maybe 15-20 times a year. I honestly dont know where we would be without them. I book online, pay by Visa electron, check in online and take hand baggage only. SIMPLE. I once had an hours delay on the last flight from Dublin to Luton, were diverted to Shannon once because of fog at Knock (cant blame Michael O'Leary for that) and apart from that nothing.
So I say get off their case because certainly the Irish people living in England (including myself) would not be able to afford to go to see family so often as was the case 23 years ago when we wanted to go for a funeral and couldn't because Aer Lingus wanted over £500 return for 2.
So carry on Ryanair and Michael O'Leary, ye are doing a grand job.0 -
I have just been duped by BMI on a trip to Knock from mcr. Bmi do not clearly state their luggage allowance- my wife, who booked the flights, as convinced it was 20kgs, it turns out it was 18kgs and we got hit for an excess baggage charge, but it got worse. On our return, we hadn't printed the boarding passes for online check-in -my wife said it didn't give her that option and we certainly didn't have the option to print them in Ireland as we were in a rural village with no broadband access; we were penalised 13 euros each x 3 for a minutes work by the check-in desk. This is a rip off- we had no choice at the desk- they could have charged anything and we would still have to pay. My wife is a responsible web-savvy person, so I believe the charges, weight allowances and return boarding passes policy were not clearly displayed. Why should they charge so much for such a simple and essential task? It's a penalty in the same way as you get excessively penalised for buying a parking ticket for an hour for £1 then when you're 5 minutes late you get charged 30 times the original fee- racketeering. The airlines are doing the same thing. I can hardly believe my eyes reading the comments of these saints who've never made a mistake in their lives. lucky them.0

What is this 5 adult booking for then?
1. MR ADT 2. ADT 3. ADT 4. ADT 5. ADT
PAYMENT DETAILS
*********5.00 CHF Total Fare
*********0.00 CHF Taxes, Fees & Charges
*********5.00 CHF Total Paid
and actually works out at about 90p each, so I saved 9p on your figure.
Actually, Richardw, check your statement. If you paid with a UK card, you will suffer DCE and the exchange rate will be RyanAir determined, and pretty poor. I had to send my email into my bank (as proof the transaction was in EUR) and they recharged the transaction at the correct figure.
Now, granted, this isn't much on 5 CHF, but for larger amounts the 5% or so extra can be significant.0 -
MSE should have a dedicated help page showing you how to grab one of these cheap flights without incurring fees as this is a moneysaving site an other posters have flown for £1 , so it can be done.
There is now one http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-ryanair-flights-discount0 -
Why can't we have everything above board especially as said before for those who are older and perhaps not computer savvy.
You need to go thru every little rule to make sure you don't break any and then if you do inadvertantly pay thru the nose for it.
You get the feeling that Mr O'Really  wants you to slip up so he can make more money.
What a way of conducting a business and treating a customer.0 -

This is the ONLY 'rip-off' I am aware of regarding Ryanair.
If Martin wants something 'legal' to go at, this is it.
Otherwise, caveat emptor!!!!!0
