I've done it!!!! i have finally binned my Dyson DC11!! i've had the machine for just over a year and its been a complete waste of time from the day i bought it! i tried to convince myself that it wasnt supposed to be this rubbish! But i've finally come to my senses and said "Enuff is Enuff!!!"
the suction on it has got to be the worst EVER!! i've got 2 kids under the age of three and need to vacuum at least twice a day but the Dyson just couldnt cope.
I've got to give Dyson credit when it comes to their customer services, absolutely brilliant. I phoned up twice and on both occasions they sent out new parts within a couple of days, unfortunately it didnt make a blind bit of difference!
I've gone and bought the Miele hepa 5ooo from QED: http://www.qed-uk.com/q?i=13VaYT0zZdEk&vp=5&bg=045&bp=solhep5000x&bi=0
I ordered it on wednesday and it was here Friday morning just before 9.00.
I cant believe how excited i am about getting this machine, it is absolutely wonderful, the suction on it is amazing, its lifting up the carpets and honestly my carpets have never looked so clean. its come with 3 different brushes, a normal one, large Turbo and a special one for wooden floors, an absolute God send, i dont know why i suffered for so long!
Thankyou to Everybody who recommended the Miele, u've made a tired and emotional mum very very Happy!! :A0 -
Hi, I need to get a replacement vacuum cleaner for a household that has a lot of long human hair to pick up. I am thinking of getting either a brand new Vax Big Bubble or a Dyson DC01 second hand. My max budget is £30 because I have bought expensive hoovers in the past but the hair clogs them up too much & they require too much maintenance & it is for someone who does not like maintenance. Does anyone have any recommendations on whether to get a nex Vax or second hand Dyson?0

Miele are fantastic aren't they. I couldn't believe how dirty the filter was on mine after the first use though I had been warned it would be. Mines still going strong and like new after 11 years.0 -
........ no wonder, second hand shops are full of dysons!!!!!!!!!!!!!
do miele do bagless cleaners, if so i would really like one ?Nice to save.0 -

Not bagless, but suction loss isn't a problem with them. A big plus for me is when you take out the bags they are completely sealed and you don't get any dust escaping.0 -
I've got a Sebo hypo-allergenic. It's fantastic. Never had a problem with it.0

I'm really surprised at the problems some people have been having with their Dyson vacuums. Having had a DC07 HEPA machine for 4 years with superb suction and no problems I'm amazed that people complain about it.
I guess its all down to different lifestyles / luck / requirements - lots of black and white comments - ie Dyson r gr8 vs Sebo rocks !
I've got a Miele dishwasher and love it but then Dyson dont do a dishwasher !
brummiebird443 : if you still have the dyson why don't you contact Dyson for a refund rather than just tossing a year old cleaner ? As you say they are very on the ball when it comes to service.
cheggers : I've never had my Dyson serviced - just washed out the filter every few months and cut away the threads wrapped round the brushbar - never a problem - what were the problems that caused a service ? How old was the machine ? Be interested in case I have problems ahead !!0 -
