If you plan to buy a new dyson, might be worth buying it from John lewis. They increase the standard warrenty from two to five years. All the others like comet and currys just do the standard 2 years and they want money to make it up to five years. Check out john lewis website.

  • Bury the Dyson in the biggest hole you can dig and go out and buy a Sebo upright! We have had ours for 8 years (bought from John Lewis) and it is brilliant. OK they have bags to buy and empty but so what? They are so realiable.
    Good luck
PS Do try buying from John Lewis as you may find they extend the warranty for a further year which is normally free of charge

My wife has asthma and we have two cats, who like to spread their hair about the place. Does the Miele Cat and Dog perform wonders in animal hair removal?

Where is the cheapest place to buy it? Apparently, it's £168 delivered from Comet.

Ours was £120 from Powerhouse almost two years ago to the day (Jan sale offer). Dunno if they're doing a simlar deal now.

    Mike.
  • Powerhouse don't seem to sell it anymore. I've found it at the following link for £154.99 delivered. Slowly getting cheaper. :o)

  • we're thinking off getting a new vacuum as well and i'm going to take the advice on here about burying my dyson in the deepest hole i can dig. That bloody machine has been the bane of my existence from the day i bought it!!! i HATE it, HATE IT HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think i'm going to go for the miele, just a quick question, is it suitable for hard floors and does it have variable suction on it?

    thanks

I have the meile cat and dog and use it on rugs, carpets and hard floors as well as all the soft furnishings. Vairable speeds from 300 to 2000 and extra vents to open if sucking up rugs. The head that comes with it is for carpets and hardfloors but its useful to get the turbo brush head as well if you do have pets. I cant remember who I got mine from (online) but it was packaged with the turbo brushes at no extra costs

Thank goodness for that posting, I thought for one moment I was the only one here that felt the same about Dyson. I am a firm believer, and somewhat cynical, that all this "bagless - cyclone" hype is just that - HYPE.

My old mum always had and used in the good old days a Hoover upright and from what I can remember Hoover used the adverting tag line of "It beats as it sweeps as it cleans". And boy did it clean, although on the downside I think it "beat" a few holes in the family Axminster!

if you want ahoover that keeps on going get the most basic one you can less parts means less things to go wrong with it
    Money's too tight to mention!!!
