Great Things You Should Buy Now For Next Christmas Hunt

Bought 20 sheets of wrapping paper from Iceland today, 25p reduced from £1.
I got a few bits for people in the sale for xmas and their birthdays but the main thing I am doing is setting up a DD to a savings account to save for xmas. I'm putting £50 a month away and I have worked out what I spent on everyone this xmas and see if I can come under budget. So far I've been able to get my brother and sisiter in law's presents for £7.50 and £10 each when I would normally spend £15-20 each. I'm going to shop for people throughout the year whenever I see something that catches my eye that's a bargain and this will stop me from all that last minute spending to much business!0 -
I buy loads of stuff in the sales, like a lot of other people here! So far I've bought mini spirits (always good stocking fillers) and fruits in liquers, make-up, smellies, mugs, toys and a bunch of other stuff. I've ticked off about half the people on my list for this year, and top bargain so far has to be some Bob the builder brio sets (rrp £10) reduced to £3 in TK Maxx. I got 4, and they look great as quality presents for little ones! :j :j
Am looking forward to some mine sweeping next week hopefully, but last year I got overexcited and bought a load more than I needed because it was cheap. Wish me luck!In a Den first, Theo Paphitis has been getting business information from a talking tree.0 -
I have been a bit disappointed with the sales this year. I buy things every few days but by the end of the sales things are 70% of for a reason - no one else wants them. I dont mind only getting things at 50% off if they are really something I want. I buy boots gift boxes in at the end of the summer as I worry they will not last until Christmas, although I give some away during the year as presents.
Last summer I got £20.00 and £15.00 for less than £2.50 and one present originaly £8.00 cost me 84p and I really wanted it so I was really happy.
So far this year I have bought items half price at Next including Christmas cards, some from Woolworths, a photoframe which was half price in Asda and a puzzle from Beales. I also bought some bows from Sainsburys reduced from £2.00 to 50p. I have enough wrapping paper from last year. Treated myself to a book at WHSmiths half price as well as some christmas crackers for £4.99 reduced from £10.00 could have got cheaper ones but those were the ones I wanted. All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -
I haven't been very impressed either altho I did get some nice cardigans from Debenhams. I actually put back some Christmas wrapping paper in M and S the other day as the sale price worked out at only £1 cheaper than when it was buy two get one free and I was not very impressed with that!! Also no Christmas cards or wrapping paper in my local tescos after Christmas! Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Really. I don't like christmas pudding. But looked at one in Aldi yesterday big huge one for £1.49 best before Jun 2007.
Also do you have a local graden centre with a food section as mine does and it had lots of Christmas puddings in end of last week all with dates well in to late 2006 early 2007.
Hope you find one soon.

Calley
I bought the great, big Christmas pud from Aldi (full price though) and we served it up with custard for me, hubby 3 hungry sons and Mil and Fil, and still had some left in bottom of the basin. Brilliant value for money even at full price, absolutely drenched in spirits, practically got squiffy on the fumes.
Am sorely tempted to buy another and keep it for Easter!keep smiling,

I've had a real blast, bought loads of clothes for my nieces and nephews 6 of them in total all between 50 and 75% off which was amazing I saved so much money. Made sure I bought the sizes they will need by next December etc. Also bought a whole load of half price games and toys in House of Fraser at Bluewater some were over 75% off and I have now finished buying for all of my family's kids and my mates kids too. Only today I picked up a 3 foot soft plush toy snowman with full dress up outfit to go with it and it was reduced from £18 down to just £3 wow I snapped it up in disbelief. That was from a small independant card shop near me, so there are plenty of bargains still to be had out there, happy hunting shoppers.0

GOOD LUCK!!! Must admit I love a trawl through the bargains last yearcwas in Wilkos and a young lad said "All the xmas stuff is going down to 10p so if you wany any get in before it's announced!" Lucky me I got loads of paper/cards/trimmings/balloons/tinsel/chocs etc. I came out with a huge bag for about £2.
Then they announced it and I ran for cover.0 -
In whsmiths yesterday and all boxed cards were 49p each.0

WHSmiths have also started to do their second round of reductions on certain gift sets. I picked up a set that has a book of rugby quotes and a hip flask for £2.99 from £9.99. They also had a set with a book on clothes, compact mirror and 'shoe fund' tin for £2.99 as well as some other 'present pile' stuff. Debenhams can often be good for chucking stuff out - last year I got some really useful MP3 player speaker and waterproof shower cases for a quid each - hoping they di the same this year.'Imagine something inspiring that somebody once said to you and go out there and win!'0
