try going back through this thread and sorting it with TMO via pm.. others have been in your shoes and got it sorted

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D
  • Yep, that is the general pattern daniellelandod. I've requested confirmation of cashback request by sending these guys here an email, tmo's official email (which always gives and automated reply saying, sorry technical difficulties, we will respond within 24 hours or some other bullcr@p) and even PMd them here, twice. No response. Pathetic. Btw, who were you with previously, as I do not intend on using these guys ever again tbh.

    Hi,

I have reading this forum while pursuing my claim and have had no response from TMO. They haven't even posted back my bills to me after refusing my claim. I have e-mailed the forumqueries address now as a last resort before starting my small claims action.

Does anyone have a copy of the T+C from April of last year they could send to me? tr105@soton.ac.uk

ALSO, 21 days... they have said this means inclusive? My bill was printed on 5th Oct, they rec'd my claim om the 26th, by my reckoning this is 21 days 5+21..? Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Well I'm just having my first experience of The Mobile Outlet. Ordered a phone last Sep. so sent in the first 4 month cashback claim at Christmas. Everything went well for delivery etc. and I sent the 4 bills off RD with a cover note and SAE (after a small panic when I thought I'd lost the original delivery note). Bills returned O.K. with a confirmation email on 3 January 2007that the claim had been accepted. The cashback cheque arrived on 3 Feb 2007 right at the end of the 28 days wait for payment, but is for £108.00 and not the £180.00 4 months line rental which they owe me. I'm hoping they admit a simple, mistake, but despite me complying with all their complicated conditions they haven't met their obligations to me. Yet!

Wanted to report that I have recieved a cheque today from MO, after quite a bit of badgering from me through this forum. It was late but I promised I'd report back with a positive result if one was forthcoming. Here's hoping the remaining cashback proves a bit less hassle!

What they've sent you is one-fifth of the annual cost (£540) of your line rental.

The Mobile Outlet doesn't offer to rebate you for the bills you send in: its deal with you is to refund you (or not...) the entire cost of your year's line rental in a series of (typically 5) equal instalments.

These payments (if indeed you get them) thus bear no relation to how much money you wil actually have paid out in line rental when you submit each instalment claim.

Not until your final cashback (if you get it) will you finally recoup all the money you have had to pay to your network in the meantime. Until then, you'll always be seriously in arrears.

This is something that too many people, in their blind zeal to get a "free" phone, don't stop to work out.

It's ironic that when somebody does finally get paid on time by The Mobile Outlet they think it was for the wrong amount and complain!

I am new to forums and I'm not sure what pm means? Although I haven't had time to read all 35 pages of this, I got the email forumqueries@themobileoutlet.co.uk off this forum and emailed them to this as opposed to cashback@themobileoutlet.co.uk, which I was using before. I've had an email back saying 'please send your terms and conditions to us'. I have this email before and I have sent my terms and conditions 4 months ago (10th Oct sent recorded so I know they've had them), followed by numerous letters and emails. I'll send them again first thing tomorrow but they didn't reply to the first set I sent (or the numerous emails) so I doubt they'll reply. If they do I'll let you know asap.

I was with dial a phone two years running and never had a problem. Their deals aren't as good though (probably because they don't rip people off in the process!). I've also used MobileShop and didn't have a problem.
