If you have contributed to the Icesave one this year see my post earlier that explains the HMRC rules.0 -
Just for the record, I opened an account with Scottish Widows, was told to put the old Icesave accounts details on the transfer form and send them a cheque with the money. They told me they'd open the account, deposit the money and I had to send them the certificate when it arrived.
It took about 3 or 4 days, but the money is in the account and it's clearing as we speak! (no certificate yet)
Very impressed with their handling of this - I got consistent messages whenever I spoke to them and they've been true to their word.
Just a shame their rate is falling to 4.6% (although that was to be expected!).0 -
but Scottish Widows specifically told me NOT to send a cheque or fund it until the certificate had been received!
the mind boggles, talk about confusion reigns. oh well, looks like the certificates should be landing within the next 2 weeks so will all be sorted then.
i will then cheerfully forget the bloomin thing, til next year...0 -
:T My Certificate arrived in the post today woot woot :T
Now I have to decide where to transfer the money to :cool:Cleverly disguised as a responsible grown up.0 -
my certificate came through the post too
i am not going to use it until march time as my fixed rate at HBOS is earning more after tax!0 -
Mine arrived too.:j
Now I need to complete my paperwork for the First Direct e-Isa I opened up paying 6.125% fixed. Finally, I can lay this one to rest
Thanks to everyone who has provided useful and informative commentary during the past 2 months0 -
Received mine too.
Again, not using until March as I'm getting better interest after tax in my Cov. BS savings account than most ISAs are offering gross!0 -
Wife received hers today and would now add to other ISA's she transferred to Natwest. Obviously she's very ecstatic as you can see:j :j .Mine hopefully should not be long but has only received my money to my link account last Tuesday so don't know if I'll receive it next week.0

Maybe so, but aren't you running the risk of ending up with a much lower rate ISA in March than you might be able to get right now.....?Stompa0 -
