Wife got hers too we have just opened and funded by cheque Isa accts at Halifax 5% fixed for year, they gave us 30 days to give them cert.My wifes can go straight in now completing the transfer and mine will obviously follow now so satisfacory as is possible.Must say have been impressed with service from the Halifax advantage being that you can go to any Branch to expedite the opening of your online accts by verifying on the spot the id docs and paying in either cheque or other to the newly opened acct0

Are you sure you've got a fixed rate of 5%? The Halifax website is showing its ISA one year fixed rate as 4.5% for balances of £30000+.0 -
Halifax ISA rates went down yesterday, if you applied before the change you got the old rate.0

Yeah phoned up 1/12 opened accts and got roll no's
5% rate fixed 1year.It's not too bad considering I am
getting real fed up with all the hassle actually what's
next though after year passes .0 -
Maybe so, but aren't you running the risk of ending up with a much lower rate ISA in March than you might be able to get right now.....?
Yes, but isn't it all a risk and gamble? Thanks for the comment but I'll continue earning a much better nett rate than the majority (all?) of ISAs are offering gross at the moment.
Unless it's a fixed rate then a variable ISA, invested in now, at whatever the present rate is will possibly fall by March so I might as well take advantage of a better rate 'til then.
Unfortunately non of us have a piece of spherical glass to peer into and forecast what the rates will be in March anyway.0 -
Mine arrived Friday morning. That equates to about 15-21 days since my money was returned.
Maybe not much solace for anyone who is still stuck without their money but it's progress.0 -
Now you need somewhere to put it0
