I should check that out, because you opened acct @6% it should still be valid at that rate.Give their customer service a ring stating you opened at that rate so you want to fund it at that. They are usually very helpful
guesthouse QUOTE::-.Scottish Widows ISA opened with no cash at 6%, now I have the certificate to prove the ISA status it's down to 4.6% - but still the Top ISA according to this very site.
Can't win 'em all..........or quite possibly any0 -
On second thoughts was this fixed or variable?0

Depends on where you want to put it. Some banks are saying you have to wait until you have the certificate, others are opening accounts (and accepting money) without the certificate, Scottish Widows are one of those. I was told I could open the account, deposit the money and send the certificate when I had it. It's all worked out fine too.
Ring the bank you want to open the new ISA with and find out how they're handling it.0 -
If this has already been answered I apologise, but do Icesave send one certificate per ISA account? i'm asking as I had two separate accounts (one for this year's allowance, one for last year's).0

When I transferred the previous years' ISAs into Icesave (not one of my better decisions) I was surprised that they were treated as a single account (I'd never had more than one year's allowance with one provider before) and even queried it in this forum.
My guess is that you will get separate certificates if they really are separate accounts. You would have had to make separate claims for each of your accounts when you went through the claim process.
It will be obvious when you receive the certificate because it itemises the amount to reinstate (the total that was in your account) and the amount subscribed in this tax year.0 -
Got my money 2 weeks ago and moved it into a newly opened Tesco savings account.
Got my certificate Saturday but am now waiting for Tesco card reader to move my money back and onto an ISA.
I was planning on transferring to an RBS account but need to check out the best buys again as a lot has changed in the last two weeks!0 -

They are definitely separate accounts - both have different account numbers & I had to initiate two different claims. Both were 'new' ISAs opened with Icesave, not transferred money from another provider.
Anyway I guess I will be waiting a while before I find out, as I've only just received my money back!0 -
