I'll take that as a no then:rotfl: , I must be the only *mug* person to leave the fund in?

No your not, I left mine in to mature seemed silly not to. I have not received any paperwork but I'm quite sanguine about it until after Christmas

    Got my certificate yesterday....

I opened a Abbey ISA ages ago (before Icesave went down) and sent them a transfer request, this didn't go through and I haven't put any money in there. Now that my money is back with Nationwide, was thinking about opening an ISA with them instead and closing down the Abbey one, is this possible?

It's not precluded by the Tax Regulations (as you haven't added funds to the Abbey one, you haven't 'subscribed' to it).

Nationwide haven't been accepting ISA transfers from other ISA managers since about July. Perhaps they might make an exception for you if you are a current account holder - you'd have a lot of explaining/persuading to do probably!

Thanks King, I thought that was the rule. Probably pop down on Friday and have a try at persuading them to let me open another ISA, you'd think they would want my money to stay in their building society...

If, like me you are waiting for your ISA certificate from FSCS/Icesave then you shouldn't have much longer to wait :-)

I have just been on the phone to them and 54000 certificates are being sent out second class post tomorrow and will hopefully arrive early next week. This will apparently cover all Icesavers who completed their compensation claims before the end of last week.

An end to this saga is nigh :-)

Does the certificate dictate that the money must come from the account the FSCS paid into when transferring into the new ISA?

Just trying to sort out the details of my transfer with first direct which is proving a bit of a hassle - I seem to be having to school them a bit on ISA regs!

    No - see http://www.fscs.org.uk/files/documents/pdfs/hwcpsfdyckkfdzm.pdf
    36. I have now received my ISA payout from the FSCS, but am unsure as to whether or not I can move it from my linked account it was transferred to, to an interest paying savings account for a short period until I receive the certificate confirming the ISA status. I do not want to lose the ISA status by moving it twice.

If you wish, you can transfer your ISA payout to an alternative account whilst you wait to receive your ISA certificate. This will not affect the tax free status of your ISA.
