    Hi DTDT!!

I am quite lucky in that I am only a 15-20 min drive from work!! It does mean that I am out the house for a minimum of 11 hours a day though *sighs*
And I am contracted to work alternate Saturdays 8-2. I think all Saturdays should be overtime!!! I'll have a go at changing that later in the year when we know how things are going to sit business-wise for the year!

The magical £35!!! I am going to debt bust by leaving it in my current account, that almost makes up 1 weeks reduction in my self-imposed OD limit. All spare cash is going to go toward that now as when its at £0 I want to start overpaying my loan!!!

I hope all is well with you? Will drop by your pages a little later!

    Nats x
    start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!

  • They are long days Nats – especially for thinking about a second job… you’ll be shattered … I do agree with you that all Sat’s should be overtime!!!

Oops on sleeping in, far too easy mind you (especially in this dark!!)… can you make lunch before bed? I’ve started doing that… SO much easier……. Does mean being a little day to day organised mind you ;)

Good idea on the crisps at work.. would stop me wanting any extra in the evenings too!! Crisps are my downfall… I like savoury!!

Very good at leaving the £35 to O/D … well done hun!!! Can’t believe the dent you’re making in that already… So impressive!!

Anyways… best not seem like I’m stalking you :rotfl:…. Catch ya later!!

    xx

OBNW - I know I know!! I knew last Friday that it was going out today, but have been so caught up with the idea of my OD being £0 (soon) that I kind of forgot! I will ensure that it won't happen again. Hopefully soon I will be able to overpay weekly and then I will be right there updating my sig every Friday!!
:T Well done on bringing your DFD forward!!!:T Thats amazing in the short time you've been going on here! Its not far from what I first predicted for myself! I bet you manage it first!!

Okay everyone are you sitting comfortably?.... then I'll begin! (as usual its a bit of a ramble, but a bit too excited to formulate my thoughts any more logically!)

Sorry emms, this has taken precendance over making sandwiches tonight!!

Lately I have been a bit dispondant that things haven't been moving quite as swiftly as I hoped. So this evening, as well as working out my weekly budget (which I'll post tomorrow!) I did a little bit of long range forecasting!!

Now, on the basis that I keep my weekly budget the same (£60 from 23 JAN)and allocate my DD's as they stand - here is my OD balance forecast.....

    16 JAN -£575.54
(carry forward balance, +wages, -DD's and weekly budget £60)
    23 JAN -£280.00
    30 JAN -£ 16.15
    06 FEB -£173.96
    13 FEB -£132.42
    20 FEB -£ 73.92
    27 FEB +£206.58
    06 MAR +£ 48.77
    13 MAR +£150.31
    20 MAR +£210.81
    27 MAR +£474.66
    03 APR +£535.16
    10 APR +£358.39
    17 APR +£421.89
    :j
Now, when I first had my LBM (9 weeks ago) I contacted Egg about my loan. I currently pay £238.96 each month with an interest rate of 7.66%. I asked what effect over-paying my loan would have on its current finish date of MAY 2011. They said...
OVERPAY BY £200 PER MONTH, NEW END DATE MARCH 2010 (14 months early!)
OVERPAY BY £300 PER MONTH, NEW END DATE DEC 2009 (17 months early!)

I have been allocating £40 per week to help reduce my OD balance (see sig, aim to get to £0). When I reach £0, this is a spare £40 a week (approx £160 a month) to go toward my loan, so I only need another £10 a week to reach the £200 or £35 a week to reach the £300!! (still with me??)

I have done another calculation based on my OD balance being £0 on the 27 FEB, and have worked out if I stick to my budgeting, I will have on average a 'spare' £50 (or so) per week. To allow for anything un-budgeted appearing on the horizon, I can cover the £35 per week needed to finish my loan this year (or there abouts!) and have a little as back up!

So - my challenge of £6500 in 2009 (see sig) seems plausible and I am now re-excited about my debts (or rather, busting them!) I know that my figures will need to be adjusted slightly as I currently don't set anything aside for christmas, birthdays or my road tax (£35/year!) but I can handle seeing a small reduction in the amount I put into the loan (hopefully that £15 per month will go someway to easing the situation!)

Also, it means that next year (I know!! we're only 15 days into this one!!) if things carry on as I hope, I should have £238.96 + £160 + £200 (£598.96!!) to pay off my c/card each month.

Well, thats enough for now and I am off to bed as I have a busy day tomorow due to both directors being off work (I'm in charge tomorrow!) I hope I haven't completely confused you or got it totally wrong and embarrassed myself. Even if I am a bit out, I am going to bed a happier bunny than recently!

    GODD NIGHT!!

  • Hi hun, tbh i got a little bit confused with all of those numbers - 4 nights with a baby teething doesn't do my brain much good pmsl...but your doing great, keep up the good work and you'll be debt free in no time.
Well the slow cooker is still in the box, not used lol... but its my last day working from home tomorrow until i start my new job, not got start date yet so....next week at the moment i am off work, so shall give the slow cooker a go! thanks x

    Morning all!

Have just re-read my ramblings from last night and thought I should do a summary......

My OD should be gone by the end of Feb
Paying an extra £300 per month would mean my loan will end this December (or thereabouts!)
Once my OD is at £0 I will have a spare £160 a month to put toward my loan.
I should also be able to cover the extra £140 needed to reach the £300 overpayment and have a little spare myself.
So my loan should be gone by early next year - around 16 months early!!!

Will post weekly budget in a bit. Am in charge today so need to go and pull my mean face at the guys and then I'll be back!!!
