LOL!! I completely agree hun – budgeting definitely takes precedent over sandwich making!!.... I’m trying to do my budgeting once a week on a Monday evening, make sure diary spend is upto date and seeing what is left over
Summary very helpful for the non maths person here – I reckon you should add your Feb O/D challenge to your signature… That sounds fab hun on the O/D and over paying the loan…. 16 months early is great!!!
Glad to hear you’re re-excited about debts hun!! Think I need to do a long term plan like you to see when I can get there!!
Hope you’re bossing them around good n proper…

Ok here's my weekly budget (I'll try and keep it simple!)
This week coming, I need to pay my mobile and money into the account for the household bills (both by DD). I am reducing my OD by £40 to -£600 and allowing myself £50 for the week (cigarettes £15, Diesel £10 and food £25). This will leave an addition £24.46. Now usually I would spend it, but if I want my OD to be £0 at the end of Feb it needs to stay there!!
Account balance + wages = -£308.54
DD's = -£217.00
-£525.54 maximum OD for the week -£600
GIVES ME FOR THE WEEK = -£74.46
WITHDRAW £50 = -£24.46 STILL IN ACCOUNT MAKING BALANCE - -£575.54
May not have overtime tomorrow now though!! But I will point out that I was asked to work and have made my social plans accordingly and therefore I should come in anyway!!

how organised are you??!!!!! wish i could do what you have done with numbers!!!!!!!!!
sounds like this year you will have knocked a big chunk of debt off - good going!!!!!
What job do you do by the way???December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
Weight loss: 1.5lbs0 -
ha ha ha - that is brilliant!! I love the organisation.. you need to be in the right mood for something like that don't you!
Brilliant news all in all though, really gives you something to aim towards!! Actually you've motivated me to look at my figures again... I need to pay about £666 off my debt a month to make £8K by Xmas 09. If I kept up this amount then I would also have my CC's gone by end of May.. or that's what I worked out in December... think I need a relook to make sure I'm still on targetDebt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270 -
Hi Rags!!
I do like numbers - but it has been known for me to get it totally wrong.... so I wouldn't be too surprised if things don't follow my prediction too closely!!:rotfl: Worst case scenario is that they follow that trend, just a little slower - watch this space!! (I'm sure I can post some more number mumbo-jumbo in the near future!):rotfl:
My job? I am a branch manager of an independant builders merchants! (were you expecting something a little more interesting?) Maybe not the safest job in the world at the mo, but we are confident (the MD's and I) that we can ride the year out and next year things should start getting better again!
Hi Elizabeth!!
Last night just kind of happened - just wondered what position I would be in once my OD was at £0. I still think its a bit mad that I will (apparently) have this amount of money to spare!! What the bloomin' heck did I do with it all before???? Definitely worth checking your longer term targets. If you are on track its a great big pat on the back and if you are a little under, you can look at making some more changes!! Let me know how you get on!
Well, back to work I 'spose (not in charge any more as MD is back in!!:p )

Afternoon all!! I am working today (only til 2 though) Yippee - overtime!
I sat last night and re-read my diary from beginning to end and it was a good read - so thank you to everyone who has left posts. Your support is amazing!!
A little while ago I did ask a question - but I'm going to ask again now!!
Do I over pay my loan (at 7.66%) or throw money at my 0% CC in case when it finishes in August there are no good deals around to be had?
I know the logic is to overpay the loan as it is the higher of the 2 interest rates, but if it gets to September and there are no low interest rate CC deals, then I may end up paying more on that.
Or..... (rambling thoughts again!) do I over pay the loan now, and deal with the interest rate on the CC when it happens and if it ends up with a high % than the loan start paying that instead?
All thoughts (as always!) are muchly welcomed.
Am off home in a minute and then out to do food shopping (had to ask my mum how to make dumplings - how embarrassing!!!?)
I'll pop in when I can over the weekend, if not, I'll be back in style on Monday!!!

Afternoon Nats, well done on the overtime, extra pennies coming your way :T
Tough one with the overpayments isn't it as like you say if you lose your 0% you may end up with the debt on a higher rate after the deal runs out.
Would it be worth sticking the money in a savings account and building it up and then if you are offered another 0% you can chuck it at the loan and if not you will have the cash to clear the card?Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712
