(((((hugs))))) to Kiwichick and poorly DD. I had mumps and chickenpox as a id but never measles.
I *think* one of the benefits of having been vaccinated is that she's unlikely to get it too badly. Quite a few kids still get it but nowadays they don't seem to get long-term complications like kids did in pre-vaccination days.
I hope she feels better soon and that your other two are OK :grouphug:Operation Get in Shape

Afternoon everyone
Not had time to read all the posts, but have chatted to kiwi online so know what's going on there - (((hugs chick)))
Been to mum's today - done her cleaning and taken her to the supermarket where I was instructed to leave her so she could wander around at her own pace and take her time choosing things she doesn't usually get. She can lean on the trolley so it's easier for her and she needs to walk around a bit to try and ease her hips up.
Dropped DS2 at pre-school this afternoon so had a couple of hours to myself. Managed to put laundry on, hang wet stuff on rads, move some books out of study and into attic room (mine, not his) clear kitchen, take meat out of freezer for tomorrow and even sat down for 1/2 hr with a cuppa and watch a bit more of Judge John Deed.
House full now - pizza and jackets for tea, followed by apple sponge and custard. I'll have a jacket and something healthyand NO pud.
Ok, best go and put the oven on. Catch ya later - may even have time to read this thread

Sorry to hear about your little one's measles Kiwichick. I was wrong about the non-specific viral rash thing then
You say she had her MMR? That's a bit worrying.
Thinking of you and yours :grouphug:0 -

Hello everyone
Sorry to hear so many MSE-babies are so poorly at the moment. Kiwichick, I remember having measles as a kid, think I slept most of the time. No long term damage at all. Please don't panic too much.
Ancasta I am delighted to see you back - was wondering where you were last night. Congrats on your weight loss, I am intensely jealous!!!:D You're going to be a complete babe on your wedding day!!
Today I am shattered, yet another night of insomnia - but got about three hours in the end. Managed to get to the exam on time. It wasn't too bad but could have been better, but only because I didn't work hard enough in preparation for it. Filled the three hours and wrote masses and masses. If I pass I will be pleased. We have next week off college, then the week after we start new modules - English Literature (which I enjoy anyway), and Irish History. I am embarrassingly ignorant about Irish history, for some reason my school concentrated on English & British history and I was taught by a strange man who used to pick his nose all the time...I gave it up the 1st opportunity I could. It's going to be interesting going from ignorance to A-level in one move.
I've managed to get the rest of today off on the grounds that I am shattered. Am too tired to go out walking, so will potter around the house and do some light dusting etc. Will go to bed at about 9.00 pm tonight and try my utmost to stay asleep.
B-porridge and milk
L-a scone and cup of tea after exam, and then the last of the ginger nut biscuits when I got home washed down with a big cup of coffee
D-will be spuds and the last of the Turkey Stew I invented...generous portion cos it is fantastic...yummy!
Snacks: fruit incl kiwifruit, oranges, pears. (Have to get my five a day, this bit of the daily thread does remind me that I am lardy because I don't eat properly, ie skimp on fruit & veg too much and consume an awful lot of junk between meals which I **forget** to tell you all about)
Cheerio everyone

Hi Yall, I've skimmed all the posts so if I am ignoring some earth shattering revelations I'm sorry but I've got to go out soon.
Hi to all the Newbies you'll soon settle in as long as you remember that we have the right to winkle all your personal doings and family goings on out of you for public debate and consumption;)We are not really nosey - we are really, really nosey!
I've been out most of the day at the horrid Leicester Royal Infirmary taking mini miss MATHLETT fo yet another set of hearing tests:rolleyes: Having almost come to fisti-cuffs in the postage stamp carpark over a parking spot the consultant decides she MAY need hearing aids but wants yet another set of tests to make sure:rolleyes: She's failed every hearing test since she was three, had grommits and other ops and still has the hearing of an 80year old. You don't have to be doctor Spock or wear a novelty tie to work that one out.:o Another two months wait for a further hearing test, another crack at understanding Leicesters ring road system and maybe hearing aids when hell freezes over. OHHHHHHH I DO MISS BUPA (sob).
On a brighter note Mrs MATH has had some interest in her CV (yah) unfortunately from a company in Leeds (sob). Apologies to all who live in the Leeds area I don't mean to diss your locale but it's not for me. Too far away from family and further to go our coast home. Hence me wearing dispair like an old raincoat.
Master MATH has just barged in from footy practice so I'd better get tea. Nothing OS (salad and sausage rolls)

charlotte, you're doing the right thing. it will get it out of her system quicker and as long as she is getting plenty of fluids and it's under docs advise - better than her being ill for days. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
Hello everyone.
just home from another busy day at work.
my freezer is now full of 3 batches of slow cooking - steak & ale, chicken & tomato and sausause casserole. probably got about 15 meals in there now so no cooking for a week or 2
Did my usual pre work run. I have just entered the BUPA 10k run in Manchester in May - so i can't stop the running now.
Got to do a few hours studying tonight before going to ju jitsu training. I train at Uni - and its been closed over the Christmas break so its my first session for 4 weeks - i think i'll be aching tomorrow.
B- beans on toast
L - salmon & pasta salad
D - cheesy crumpets.
hope everyone has a nice evening - time to hit the books

Mrs b & somersetprincess - congrats on your respective babas
Bargain rzl - hope the job works out for you.

Hugs to all poorly or sleepy old stylers & kids.
Big hellos to all newbies!
Not been too well myself today, another bad sleep and then when finally did get to sleep - missed half the day. Fiance is off colour today so have left him sleeping/resting.
Got up to some great news today - I am to be the lucky recipient of a new rowing machine (to go in our home gym) from freecycle. My dad is going to collect it for me on sat.
Made my first ever loaf yesterday and I turned out fab. Need more butter before I can make any more.
Made poached eggs on toast for brunch. And am going to start making curry queen’s curry shortly. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090
