DD has got measles. I'm a bit panicked to be honest as it seems that her MMR hasnt worked. Shes really ill with it and doc said they may hospitalise her this afternoon if she keeps getting worse. Off now to pack her an overnight bag in case we end up going in.

I'm sorry to hear that and hope she doesn't suffer too much with it :( ... the last time I remember seeing measles was when my little brother had it about 30 years ago, and he was very poorly with it too, had to keep the room dark etc as it affected his eyes.

I'm sending some healing vibes and fingers crossed for you all hun xxx :A

KC - hope all goes well.

My eldest DD had it when she was 8 months old -- she would rub her ears along the carpet to try and get some relief from the pain - was horrible to watch.

If you need to go into hospital remember to take some change for the phone and don't forget how warm it can get in these places....make sure you're in layers...nothing worse than feeling all hot and bothered.

Let us know how she gets on.

  • Kiwichick - hope your daughter feels better soon. I had measles when i was little and it wasn't nice.

However, the beauty of children is they bounce back quickly too.

    Take care

Thinking of you and the poor little mite. Take care of yourselves, and shout if you need anything.

I know how you feel, I had to do the same when DD was ill as a baby. Keep your chin up though chick, it'll be finished soon and she'll be eating loads to make up for it.
