Haven't posted for a few days - have been around but seem to have been really busy, had relatives staying over the weekend then work seems to have taken it out of me. Not much OS going on here - had fish and chips at the weekend :o and went and had my nails done properly for the first time ever - very nice but it will have to be a treat - trying to decide how I want them done for my wedding. Did redeem it a bit by taking a 2 1/2 month old pair of trousers back to marks and spencers because one hem was down completely and the other was going - decided as they were so new I wasn't going to sew them back as the trousers weren't cheap so I'll be looking for some more now.

Sold another book last night on Amazon - got a good price and will end up with double what I paid for it about 8 years ago (came from a cheapie bookshop) so that'll boost the selling fund but means it's the post office for me at lunch time.

Tried to open an ING direct savings account last night - can anyone help with the paper work - know a few people on here have them - did they send the bill back? Did you send a copy of your passport etc? It's a right pain because I'm not working in schools at the moment and don't think I have any of the other things they accept - certainly don't have anything about benefits. Thought I'd open it to pay in my selling stuff money, but looks like it'll take an age to get sorted.

Have been bringing lunch to work for over a week now - so apart from the odd packet of mints etc have been saving lots of money - mission today is to write a shopping list - work out what we shall be having etc as it's shopping night tonight and if I leave it until I get home OH will dither and we'll end up with a couple of ready meals next week :o

Off into town this afternoon so leaving work early as I have an eye check up. Will have to pop into Boots while I'm there I think ;)

Have a good day all

(i wrote this this morning in word and have only just had a chance to get on here to post :o - book posted and eating lunch now)

 Came home to find Amazon had sent my Christmas present from in-laws(they gave Amazon vouchers)much earlier than I was expecting. It is a DVD of the series Tales From a Green Valley.Did anyone see it? It was on last Summer/Autumn.It was one of those living history experiments like the 1940s House, only it focussed on practical things rather reality-TV type stuff.Basically it was a group of archeaologists and historians living and working on a farm in Wales for a year as if it was 1620.Was v.OS ! and fascinating-anyway I loved it so am looking forward to re-watching it. :)

    .

Thanks, I didn't know that was out on DVD. I loved the whole series, off to have a look now :D

  • ING Account-I sent a photo copy of passport and a utility bill (which they returned quickly). Think you can use a driving liscene too if no passport. Took about 10days for my account to be opened-very impressive! Sent a £10 cheque to open it too.

    afternoon everyone
I love reading about everyone`s day here. So many different ways of living and coping. It feels like a fairly energetic day on the thread today, whereas some days and particularly grey wet days, the vibes are subdued.

No cycle ride today as it is wet. I can`t believe how much easier it is to ride a bike with lots of gears. I am getting out more as I don`t get so puffed going up all the hills around here. My sleep has improved a lot since getting this outdoor exercise and now I am waiting with bated breath for some weight to drop off.

Had my hair cut and am on the way to a trinny makeover with my hair. Had the same short style for ever but am now going for a short bob. Threw out 4 items of much loved ,but now too scruffy, items of clothing. I can`t see my wardrobe getting a re-vamp too quickly. Doing it slowly is less painful

I am getting my act together re my pantry goods and cleaning materials. I am expecting a veggiebox tomorrow but am still managing without much, or any, shopping. I can`t wait to see space on shelves

    breakfast: HM muesli and yog
lunch: HM lentil soup and HM granary bread
    evening meal: SC casserole

fruit in between meals as it is better digested on its own

DD has got measles. I'm a bit panicked to be honest as it seems that her MMR hasnt worked. Shes really ill with it and doc said they may hospitalise her this afternoon if she keeps getting worse. Off now to pack her an overnight bag in case we end up going in.
