Afternoon all - got peace to finally get on here today. DH taken DD out for a while and DS finally given in and fallen asleep so have had quick run round and swept floors, put shopping away, washed sofas and furniture down, loaded washing machine, hung clothes out to dry and thought I'd sit down for a while.
Roast is in the oven, veggies prepared so kitchen starting to smell lovely. Back to normal tomorrow with playschool starting again, am quite looking forward to that as am desperate to get some sort of routine going in house with the housework, I never seem to get organised and then get stressed trying to get it all done - will have to sit tonight and see if I can get a rota of somesort drawn up.Joined slimming world Feb 2010

Still feel awful with this virus so doing a bit of cccoking etc then resting for an hour etc.
Making Sunday lunch - roast potatoes, home made yorkies, chicken and ham pie, quorn burgers, peas and carrots, cauliflower and broccoli with cheese sauce and gravy with jelly and fruit for afters.
Have two uniforms still to iron for tomorrow and loads of ironing but that can wait till I feel up to it.
Had dreadful night - kept wheezing when I tried to breath and got so short of breath when I lay down that I kept getting up. Feel sorry for DH."This site is addictive!"

Hello everyone :hello:
Today had one of the legs of turkey (we chopped up the free range turkey we got at Christmas and just had crown and froze the rest) roasted with sweet potatoes, broccili and home made gravy. Dessert was banana custard. We'll have the other turkey leg next week. It was absolutely delicious and loads of meat on it (so it will be turkey and pickle sandwhiches for tea).
OH is wallpapering and I'm planning to do the ironing this afternoon.
Made rice crispy buns yesterday (to use up some of the rice crispy cereal bought for visitors over Christmas). DD has polished these off so I need to make some more for the packed lunches this week.
I've decided that we have enough meat/fish in the freezer to take us through most of this month, so we are concentrating our shopping on lots of fruit and veg. I'm also going to try to do more with beans / lentils.
Have a lovely OS day everyoneEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
not done much this afternoon, this morning i cooked JPs for dinner tonight, put laundry away and hung new lot on airer, made flapjacks, made yoghurt, made angel delight for pudding for children this evening, made lunch, did ironing, just chilling out now and having a browse on pc.
baths and hairwashes this evening for kids, still need to do some more ironing (when will it ever end!)
a friend popped round earlier and had a nice natter so that broke up the day a bit.

Afternoon everyone :hello:
FunkyFairy - nice to see you on here!
PP - always concerning when OH tries to butter me up too. I'm sure that it'll all become apparent...........
I was going to post on here this morning, but OH's mum rang and stopped me! When she starts talking, she doesn't draw breath - bit like my mum really.
We walked into town for a Sunday paper. I wanted to stop at the coffee shop for one of their yummy bowls of soup for lunch, but OH reminded me that we're trying to save money. Very true, especially as it was my idea that we save money. Oh well, sandwiches for lunch then - OH is reading this over my shoulder and has asked me to point out that he made me a coffee!OH has just waved at everyone  (this is blimmin' annoying!).
I've got to do some planning this afternoon, so I've got the tv on (EastEnders). Pity the poor children who'll have to write a script for EastEnders tomorrow - only joking!!!! :rotfl: OH has a presentation to write for when he goes to Spain tomorrow. He's presenting to the board of Directors of his company's Spanish operation  - but as he pointed out, half of them don't speak English so they won't be able to understand what he's saying so he's not too stressed. It all sounds very flash, but it's not I'm afraid - just IT geeky stuff!
Pork casserole for tea tonight, padded out with plenty of veg.
Have a good rest of the day.

Some idiot woke me at 6.35am with a phone call and then just put the damn phone down....I 1471'd and did not recognise the number so did not bother...... made a cup of tea fell alseep and woke at 9.40am.
OH started complaining about burning in his stomach, as usual it appears that his stomach does not like the new tablets..........so in the bucket they go...... he had a drug induced ulcer some years ago and has found that quite a lot of medication affects him........drives me mad but there you are........
Just had corned beef and chutney sandwiches for lunch, heavens knows when we will have supper tonight..... may be not, might just have something light, I am feeling a little fragile myself and having had DH wndging about his stomach has not helped....feeling very cold inspite of heating on.... hope I am not getting something else!!!!!

I got home from the night shift this morning and decided to whip up something nice. Made lemon and Pineapple pie with some caster sugar and lemon essence in the pastry itself with some lemon curd and pineapple rings for a filling. Bked at a high tempt for 20 mins then lower for last 5 mins, so very crisp.
Then ate it hot. Diet today is now declared dead.

Good Afternoon
Not done too much today but am still tired after yesterday - did most of my ironing & a years worth of paperfiling which I have been putting off for ages - note to self - do filing each week!!
Have got a gammon in the slowcooker for tea tonight which I will blast in the oven later with honey and mustard and this will also do dinner tomm ( with eggs and chips).
In a minute will do the last of the ironing and am still pleased with myself - keeping on top of things rather than letting everything build up.
Take care all0 -

Elona I have been ill with a rotten virus and found it difficult to breath at times and have found turning on the electric fan does help. ( Hope this doesn't count as medical advice, if it does I do apologize!)
Still trying to catch up with the washing, don't have a tumble dryer and the dryer in the condensing washer/dryer is hopeless! so have to depend on airers and rads. The ironing can wait as we are certainly not going anywhere at the moment!
Need to put some dinner on which will be pork steaks in the slow cooker in a gravy with wine added to it and the rest of the veg from the organic box. Pudding will be fresh fruit, really don't have the stamina to do more _pale_ This bug is far more than just a head cold I think. We are still starting the day with lemon in boiled water and hoping it will make a difference soon.
Hugs to anyone else suffering from this virus and to anyone else that needs them. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Afternoon all
Had the inlaws here all weekend. DD's have been spoilt rotten with more Xmas pressies!!! We managed to pick up a turkey for £4 at tesco so we had that for lunch today and will use it for the rest of the week in various guises.
Anything that hasn't been done today isn't going to get done now cos I'm off for a surf and a choccy fest.
Hope you've all had a good one."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
