Morning all and a Happy New Year to everyone.
It didn't start off to well as eldest DD informed me yesterday that she is moving out within the next two weeks. I'm going to miss her so much. She's my friend as well as my daughter and she is the only one who spots instantly when I am down. She's been offered a live in job, I just told her that if it doesn't work out then this will always be her home. Spent most of yesterday crying and with a migraine but I feel a bit more positive this morning and it does mean that DS and DD2 can finally stop sharing a room.
The mountain of rubbish is growing outside and we don't get a bin collection until Friday so it looks like I am taking a trip down the tip tomorrow as I can't seem to get sorted until all the rubbish is cleared.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hello everyone!
We had a kind of relaxed NYE this year. DS is full of a cold so he only just stayed awake until 9.30pm after Dr Who had finished then he staggered upstairs into bed. He wasn't woken up by the fireworks, which in our close resemble something like the millenium celebrations!
A quiet 'get organised' kind of day today in Chickadee-land. Will take down the tree which is doing my head in and totally taking over our rather cramped lounge. I also want to do an inventory of the contents of the freezer and cupboards so I can do a meal planner for January. If possible I don't want to go food shopping (except for milk and fresh veg of course) at all during this month. My sister, whose cupboards are always empty, thinks I am preparing for a siege as mine are always groaning with stuff. This is how our mum used to do things, so it always surprises me that I have continued to live like this when my sister is the complete opposite!
I have resolved to get back to my former running fitness this year as I used to really enjoy running as a form of exercise and stress relief, as well as a very social activity. I miss it and my weight misses it too. I have put on about a stone over the last 18-months and I hereby resolve that it must go!
I also need to get my ironing sorted out and put away the Christmas presents that we have all been lucky enough to receive.
I wish you all a happy and fulfilling money-saving 2006!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL
Best wishes for 2006 for you all.
I really feel that this year will def be a new start for my family and a lot of it is due to the excellent advice and inspiration from MSE.
Still in PJ's just had big fry up then getting dressed and going to MIL's for tea.

Got up a bit late today, but have been quite organised so far.
DH has put our bikes back together (they've been in bits since we came back from our hols at the beginning of November), so we are off out for a spin in the fresh air tomorrow.
Cards and decorations all taken down. DH will take cards into work tomorrow for recycling.
HM soup with HM bread for late lunch.
Feeling really pleased as I haven't had to do any food shopping since before Christmas, and will probably be able to last another week, though I might give in and buy milk and bananas before then!
2006 is looking good so far0 -
Afternoon Peeps
Managed 2 washloads today without using TD :j Toilet cleaned and DW only half full so will be put on later. Knocked up a chilli for the fridge abit ago for jacket spuds and if not all used by monday night will portion and freeze.
In true OS manner all 3 of us shared the same bath water (NO-not at the same time :snow_laug ) DD 1st, then OH, then meI would never had done that 12 months ago
Im not feeling too good and laying on one sofa with quilt and DD is on the other with a quilt as she's quite poorly and cant speak  luvelyyyyy!! Shes on Xbox and playing a silly Shrek game. We watched the 2nd Harry Potter this morning and forgot how good it was and how young they were too.
Breakfast in the end was mushrooms on toast and have just had me lunch of leftover Lamb, new pots, sprouts, carrot/peas and parsnips all from last night. DD's throat is hurting but she's managed to pack away: 2 x toast, yogurt, fruit juice, banana, crisps, a packet of cheapie noodles and loads of waterey squash  Going to have a bit of choc cake in a minute which is also from yesterday. SIL bought a brulee cheesecake and I had an allergic reaction to it and my lips have swollen (only slightly and dont look like Leslie Ash!) and have dried and cracked, so having to keep vaseline on them.
Suppose to be going to friends tomorrow but will need to see how DD is as she cant really go anywhere like this as she;s back at school tuesday.
OH wants to watch A few good men this afternoon and hopefully D will have a sleep whilst we watch it and build some of her strength up....but.....I betcha any money....she'll want a bit of choccy cake in a minute!!
Loads a luv

Big thanks to all who entered into the spirit of the games and quizz last night, it was great fun trying to decypher Snowy's posts and beat TM to the answers

ooh Edinburgh Lass it was you! Thank you, it was so much fun!
I've also proven myself to be a very economical date...I had a bottle of wine in, and only drank about a third of it and it turned my poor head to goo.
Thanks again ELass
