    Hello everyone,

We have had a really good weekend, as DD came to stay with her 2 little girls (aged 19 months & 6 months) so we have had a house full of toys, nappies & other baby paraphanalia - great fun!!!!! But nice to be able to clear it up once they have gone home, too! (no, I'm not so houseproud - I would far rather see them than have a tidy house with no little people coming to visit!)
We had a houseful yesterday, with all family coming to visit, including my grandma (the girls' great-great-grandma!!!!!)
Today I am doing the cleaning up, as they left this morning - and have arrived safely back in Portsmouth.

Just about to post a parcel for new baby in the family and going to take a huge basket of wet washing to the laundry to be dried.

DH has just helpfully pegged it out!!! Scream!

I HATE it when he pegs out the washing - he stretches my daughters tops so that they are only fit for the bin and I end up crying trying to sort them out.

I have just grabbed the lot off the line ( with some very unladylike mutterings) and am about to take it to laundry.

Why do men never do what you ask - but seem to delight in "being helpful" in such a way that everything is disrupted?

I know I sound really petty but I have been asking him to keep away from the washing for years now.

Even losing my daughter's P.E. skirt did not seem to teach him anything - it has been days now and I am still looking for it!

May make pizza for tea but feel really fed up!

Afternoon everyone and hello to the newbies

I have the luxury of a child free afternoon :D yay....:) DS2 has gone straight from pre-school to his friends so I will collect him at 3.15 when I go to get DS1 from school. However, I'm already knackered. Mum had me in the garden this morning... "Can you just move this plant/that table/ bring this in/that out/bag up those leaves" It was only -1degC and I'm not a winter person. Needless to say I was looking stunning in my old anorak and track pants, my moon boots and ski gloves :rotfl: (And I went to Tesco looking like that on the way home :D )

So, what am I going to do with this time? Well, I've come home, had lunch (veg soup and ham roll) and I'm giving myself until 1pm on here - then I'm going to do some cleaning. Went cycling yesterday so came home, had long hot shower and didn't do much after that, apart from play with kids. House has been hit with 'that' bomb and I cut everyone's hair last night and I've noticed some has been trodden into the hall carpet

I must keep a note of what people say in earlier posts - I was going to reply to several things that have been said, but can't remember now :) Oh well, hope all who are sick get better quickly, those who are tired get a better night's sleep tonight and those wanting a kick up the backside...oh, that's me today :D

Nearly 1pm - best shift myself. :hello:

  • Afternoon all. Managed a stunning 11and a half hours sleep last night. I obviously needed it, but felt guilty as I’d promised DH I’d get up this morning and make porridge while he dealt with cat litter trays and made his packed lunch.

Made a fantastic pudding yesterday – I was making flapjacks while cooking dinner, only lots got stuck to the bottom of the tray. I was just going to bi it, when I had a thought. I put it in the bottom of some glasses, and then made up a pack of strawberry smartprice whip to put on tip, stuck it all in the fridge until we were ready – it was a bit like a soft cheesecake. Very tasty – and saved me wasting the crumby bits.

I’ve got as far this morning as weighing myself, sticking some clothes on the airer, putting the WM on, and catching up on emails. Have got leftover soup from yesterday for lunch for the next 3 days – leftover mash to make fishcakes tonight so I’ll need to find a recipe. I don’t think I’ll get an awful lot done today, but I’m still tidy from Friday as we weren’t in much over the weekend.

Penny pincher – hope the hospital visit goes ok and doesn’t tire you out too much
Learning to save and funky fairy – well done with the potty training (hope your little boy isn’t really sick funky)
Smokey – you made me chuckle, as I was the same a couple of months ago when training my two kittens to use the litter tray – one got it straight away and the other didn’t at all – bless him.
Zed – bet you are so happy you are nearly there with the sewing room. I have to make do with doing crafts sat on the sofa, and try and time it when the kittens are asleep or they steal my wool
Joannasmum – hope slimming world is good news – I lost a pound this week (don’t know how after going out for lunch on Saturday)
Queenie – glad to hear your son’s are feeling better. It will make it easier for you to get your jobs done,
Chipps – sounds like you had a lot of fun. I know what you mean about the mess – my house always looks like that when my nephews visit
Elona – sorry, but I had to laugh about your hubbie – I tellmine not to even look at the laundry because he creases it. It annoys me most when I’ve carefully paired up socks (all black, but different ages/thicknesses) and he chucks them on the bed not folded, and I have them all to do again. I’ve trained him now though.

    Have a fab day.

Hugs to everyone who needs one!

I haven't done much this weekend as I managed to come down with a cold, I even went back to bed at one point! I thought I'd be really bad at work and even bought a box of tissues to work but I seem to be one the mend.

Got to work all day again today, and have left the issue of tea in my OH's capable hands, my DS1 will have a friend round so I'm hoping to get rid of the very non OS burgers and things in the freezer that will never get eaten otherwise.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
Afternoon all. I hope all those who are feeling under the weather have started improving. Before you know it you'll all be complaining about sunburn again :p:rotfl:

Well I've had another "where's the time gone?" day! I've managed to do 1 batch of dishes (pans are in soaking  ), most of the washing is now on the maiden infront of the fire still (and for the first time in months I'm actually warm while on the computer :o ) and my menu plan has been converted to a "meal" shopping list. I know I need to add more stuff but I'm about to attack Asda online with just the food for the meals first, then I can make any cuts I need to make on meals as opposed to things like fresh fruit for snacks etc.

Just settled down with a nice mug of hot blackcurrent and apple cordial  Need to dig out a moneybag for DD's pocket money for the book fair this afternoon. I can't find the letter (I think I threw it out :o ) so I have no idea what time it starts except its after school. Pizza for tea so I'm going to let DD do it herself. Well, when I say herself I mean I'll slice the bread, give her the tomato puree in a little dish and the grated cheese in another pot and let her make them up for me to put under the grill. Meanwhile we'll discuss the story she has to write for homework this week (which is tonights homework anyway - just discussing it :D ), with the title "Supercat" There are something I wish I didn't have to do as a parent, and homework is one of them! I really can not remember the last time I wrote a story, I think I must have been 16 for my GCSE's. Thats...erm...... 11 years ago :eek::eek: *thud*
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • As I predicted I am not well enough for work today! Got up at 7 with a streaming nose, very painful throat and an acheing body grrr  I then called work and went back to bed until half 8. My doctors only allows you to make appointments on the day for most gp's but I use the gp who specialises is asylum seekers and so she gets booked up before the day. I call dead on half 8 when they open and she is already fully booked. I now have to wait until tomorrw to see her, she is going to refer me to a CFS specialist though so it is worth the wait!

I will not be doing very much today at all, I am still in my pj's so I am going to have a nice hot bath in a minute and then have some lunch and probably another sleep!

Dinner will be creamy pasta and HM garlic bread :p yum!
  • DS has been asleep the last hour in my bed. I will see how he is when he wakes up.

Thank you to everyone for the care you have showen
