ICESAVE paper application

Anybody received one yet?
I have opted to wait till maturity on 3 fixed term accounts, the first one matures on 17th Dec 2008, so I am wondering if my gamble will pay off.

    When did you apply?
Ive not received my 2nd email yet.
Looks like im in the "November the 4th group".
My FRB expires on Dec 22nd so am taking an interest in this thread.
I will have to factor in Christmas holiday delay etc so its pot luck for me whether i will benefit from waiting. My inclination is to do just that as its costing me £11 a day net, since Oct 7th.
King L poSted that he had been told the form would be issued soon after you indicated you would like to wait. However i was told that the process would take up to 6 weeks from bond end.
Clear as mud, and for me at least, at this stage, totally academic.

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE SOME F:mad:     G CLARIFICATION ON THIS LORETTA!

Your having a laugh aren't you. Myself and approx. another 130,000 or so are still waiting for our 2nd emails. It is rumored that the forms will be sent out after the 4th Dec.

Not really a laugh, the 2nd emails are staggered to avoid overloading the system. A few hundred forms in the post would not affect the system or overload Royal mail.
There is no reason to assume that preparing and posting the forms would interfere with the progress of email claims. It has been announced that fixed term payments will be by cheque.
I can understand your frustration at having to wait, but it is not the fault of fixed term savers.

    When did you apply?

I applied late evening on 13th Nov. I reckon there is a fair chance that the paper route will beat the immediate payment if the form arrives as rumoured, but if they are sent as FSCS emailed me "soon after applying" it will be even better.

    @bryan

I read somewhere around here that they aren't sending forms out until 5th Dec. Not sure of the genesis - possibly someone told it over the telephone by the FSCS.

FSCS told me over the phone that end-of-term payments can be made by BACs (as well as by cheque). The icesave site says 'cheque'. Have you heard/seen directly that cheque is the only method of payment used with the paper claim process? If so, where?

    cheers

It is not frustration and if you wish to believe the official line or know for a fact that 2nd emails are staggered then that is your perogative, but for all of us the meter stopped ticking for interest on the 7th Oct but like you I intend to keep my 3 fixed deposits to maturity to hopefully recoup that amount.

As I said FSCS emailed me. I posted the text on the fixed rate thread.

Haven't heard of other than cheque payment, but interested to find any info - Thanks.
Sorry did that wrong - the "As I said" line above is mine BB

  • Hope you get that form soon Bryan. Any chance you could post the blank version up when you get it? It might save the rest of us some time!

Don't really understand why anyone would not believe that the 2nd emails are staggered, but I don't want to cause an argument about it. Perhaps you could clarify?

Gerontius has kindly posted an example of the (?a) paper claim, for those that have been asking....
