  • I applied for fixed bond to run. Got 2nd mail on Nov 24th. Ends on 22nd Dec. I'll be checking this thread for news of forms. Anyone got one yet?
Other than the non linked account type people of course.

Did they send the form without pressure from you? I need one for an account maturing 17th Dec. However Ihave opted electronically to wait on 3 accounts.

Yes. I was thinking I was waiting for a 2nd email. I appeared to be at the back of the queue, but I wasn't going to be unduly bothered 'cos I was pretty well prepared to let the FTB run to maturity, and my easy access a/c has only a bit in it.

Has anyone received the paper based claim form for fixed rate icesave accounts?

One of my fixed rate account is due to mature on 7/12/08.

    Thanks.

I'm glad about these recent postings, there seemed to be a bit of a silence on this. Is it worth organising a poll of application dates and dates of received forms?

I applied on 24th Nov for a fixed term account ending on 10 Jan 09. Still no form has been sent. "soon" seems to be an FSCS 2 weeks or more soon. Do we know for sure that the forms have a unique barcode? If I don't get one by the end of the week I'm tempted to fill in the blank posted by Gerontius last week, with the code obliterated.
  • I received my 2nd e-mail on 14th Nov, immediately confirmed that I wanted to leave the money until maturity (early Jan), but still have not received a form. Maybe they'll do them all in one mass mail-out
  • Well, neither the wording on the fcsc web site nor the wording in the second e-mail was clear enough about when the fixed account paper forms would be sent. Mine matures on 16th December. I have some concerns;

    - people in our situation is not making enough noise. Sloughflint, you are the poll expert, aren't you? Could you set up a poll to see how many of us are waiting and when bonds mature etc... or something cleverer than that.

    - apparently electronic process will stay live until January and they will start sending paper forms to people who failed to claim despite receiving their second e-mail from January onwards. I hope this doesn't mean that our claim process will not start before January and might be delayed even more...

Hopefully one of us wil post some good news to this thread soon. Keep it alive... We have been very quiet compared to other threads... I guess our time is now...

I hope they do it next week, otherwise their mass mail-out will start to get delayed with the Christmas post. Hope they are not delaying until the New Year to avoid that

  • Will have a think about the poll thing. Not sure how to make it get the required info.
But in the meantime why not fill out and send the blank form?
What is there to lose? They don't bother replying to emails/webforms and give general fob off answers on the phone.
At least a form with an incorrect bar code might trigger something; if only a correct form to be sent out:confused:

I've just filled in the blank form with the barcode obliterated - as you say, at least it will trigger something. I have a feeling we could all be waiting for weeks otherwise.
  • Mine matures soon too, first week of Jan. Decided to leave it to mature having been told the paper forms would arrive 'soon' after initiating, which for me was 14th Nov. I think I may try using the 'barcode obliterated' forms if nothing arrives this week.
  • Hi all,

I have just called FSCS for the first time to ask about fixed rate bonds paper applications. Somebody might have done that and posted something before, if this is the case, apologies. I just wanted to let everyone know ASAP.

The person I spoke to told me that they are going to start sending 18,000 paper forms HOPEFULLY by the end of this week. To clarify, I double checked if that meant they will not wait until the maturity of individual bonds to send out the forms, he said they will send the forms now and not after maturity.

    Keep fingers crossed.
