Honest you will never ever forget, but the pain is so much easier to bear. I will always love my dad!!! I am crying now, but rightly so!!
I just want you to know that you have to grieve, it hurts, really hurts, but it does really really get better, honest. I still cry, as I say I am now, but it is different!! Chin up pet, the first year is the worst!!
I agree.
You never stop loving them, but one day you will be able to think of them without all of the hurt and loneliness that you are feeling now.
Emily.
You are an amazingly strong person - your dad would be really proud of you.
I sincerely hope that everything works out well for you.
Take care
Billie

Hi Emily. I just found this forum cos I fell into the 'post of the month' page (as it were!). Usually I stick to the pigsback thread but this one will be my 'must read' page now. You are truly an inspiration to those of us who moan about being in debt and, perhaps let money assume too much importance in our lives. Even through everything you have been through you have remained positive and determined to clear your debts as quickly as possible. Through reading this site I have gained some new ideas to help clear mine. I just want to thank you for the inspiration to appreciate life more and everyone who replies to you for the new ideas to clear my debts.
Take care xLet's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:Virgin CC £9793.710 -
Have also just read the thread from start to finish and also wanted to say you are definitely an inspiration and you should be very proud of yourself. I wish you all the best with the rest of your tasks0

Thanks again for all of your replies.also nobody else has asked this but maybe emily if you posted what your debts are and how much we could take a look and see if theres any way you could juggle them around to save on interest - just a thought.
I have tried to apply for some 0% cards but unfortunately I can't seem to get any. I don't think my credit rating is that good at the momentEmily

I haven't decided what debt I want to pay off next, I will keep you all in suspense
I guess that some people are wondering why I have never posted a list of all of the debts. The reason is that I am in probably more debt than you all think I am. I had a bit of a rebelious phase when I was 19/20 which lasted for a couple of years. I also had an 'I don't care attitude' and I spent money like nobody's business. I went on holidays, bought expensive jewellery, clothes, gadgets and loads of other junk which I didn't really need!! (I have sold nearly all of it since). I suddenly realised that I had to stop spending roughly a couple of years ago but didn't really do anything about clearing the debts I had created.
I only decided at the end of last year that I really needed to clear my debts. I think I was spurred on by the prospect of becoming an Auntie. As I have got Cystic Fibrosis, it would be very hard to ever get pregnant and it is not really advised to have a baby when you have got bad lungs like myself. Therefore I have always wanted to be an Auntie as I know I will never have children of my own.
I wish I didn't have my rebellious couple of years. I'm not sure why I did it. I never like to blame my illness for anything, but at that age I started to realise what my illness meant and what it really was. The average life expectancy of a person with CF is 31 years. It's very difficult to describe how it feels to know that you will never get better, only worse. Almost everyone goes through life knowing that they have got every chance of reaching their 50s/60s/70s or even 80s. People with CF go through life knowing that they are very very unlikely to reach anywhere near that age. I am hoping very much to surpass 31 years greatly as I have always taken good care of myself, but I think this realisation pushed me over the edge for a couple of years. I am paying for it now though!!
So that is some of the background as to why I got into debt. I would rather clear all of my debts and then at the end of it all, display what my debts actually were. I prefer to concentrate on one debt at a time as this breaks it down more.
Anyway, sorry to get a bit miserable!! I just thought I would post some more background to my story. Back to feeling positive now!!
Take care and keep all of your supportive messages coming, I love to read them - they really do cheer me up

Hi Emily,
Thanks so much for being so honest with us - so sorry to hear of your life expectancy - you've got me in tears but when you get DF, all that stress will lift and hopefully, with a bit of taking care of yourself, you will be the exception to the rule.
Still following your journey.
