I didn't order this item as I'm not a student or teacher but have been reading this thread with some amusement. The same old stuff comes out, doesn't it - misprice, company cancels, shocked indignation at not getting something for very little, then people all start whining and mentioning TS, Watchdog, yadayadayada.

I can't remember how many times this has happened before and how many times people have said leave it, move on but nobody listens so here you go again

I hope all those of you who are contacting TS/Watchdog/whoever were genuine education customers otherwise you're going to look rather silly, if not fraudulent.

I'd love this to come off.. and maybe it will but only if some of us make an effort..

I wouldn't have minded if it didn't, as long as apple dealt with it properly. They should have just cancelled the orders straight away and refunded us straight away, or better not taken our money in the first place. It's the fact they won't tell us what is happening, give us our money or the camera that is the problem. They can't keep saying one thing then changing their mind and they know this.

    I've watchdog-ed by the way.

I'm also waiting for a response from management - The customer service lady I was talking to said I'd been referred to senior management and they will contact me in due course. I expect to hear from them tomorrow.

im genuine , i had a genuine order accepted , i genuinely had my credit card charged , i genuinely thought i was on to a good deal , i genuinely didnt think that apple would lie and cheat and change terms and conditions mid flow...

i genuinely contacted watchdog.... i genuinely believe that consumers in this country at times get a rough deal .

is that geniune enough for you.

the fact that this site exists surely shows that those of us like you who look in on it are looking for a baragin in some form or other....

the site is called money saving ....after all ..if your not looking for a baragin or how to make your money go further then why waste time with this site...???

    cheers

it wouldn't be me you need to convince.

if you read back through the thread you'll see many ordered who didn't match the criteria for ordering from Apple's education site at all yet who ticked the boxes to say they did. It was to those people I was referring as being on sticky ground if they compain too loudly - they hardly have a good reason to complain about Apple when they were ordering using deception.

Maybe the following can help apple find stock, it's for the students who have missed out on the special discounted camera, it's just not available now.

Does anybody have a contact email address for Apple? Hoping my letter gets to the right person. I will send it Special Delivery, I think.

I've also filled in the watchdog form. The address for anyone who's interested:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/contact/onlineshopping.shtml

I like the idea of the letter, but it would be great if someone with some knowhow about these legal matters could write a generic one for us all to sign and email/ post to apple separately? Anyone willing? (There would be lots of 'thank you's in it!) ;)
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
