Hi, haven't posted here in a looong time!

The Irish forum has forgotten all about this issue.

Personally I've stopped trying (since I'm too busy studying law - ironic!)

But Apple did send an e-mail to me saying that having contacted Olympus themselves they have been told that the E-1 digital camera will shortly be discontinued.

"Loss of bargain through misrepresentation" still seems a good option if you want to take a court case (especially since this bypasses T&C 2.6).

I wish you guys luck. And if you succeed I can still sue (we have an 18 month period where we can decide to proceed with legal action or not.)

On a side note did anyone hear of the news that Konica Minolta have decided to stop making cameras? Sad day for the camera market :(

Reposting this so that some people may have a chance to see it (the people who are actually still actively pursuing this.)

I agree - but the price of the Dynax 7D is already dropping - you can buy it for £599 including the VC-7D grip and then send off to KM for a 1Gb Kingston CF card as a free gift. This is a fantastic price and I'm just trying to convince hubby that I really really really really do need it;)

I have to be honest - I did order the Olympus (yes I met the Education criteria), and if I had got it, I would have sold it to purchase the Dynax as I already have a non-digital dynax and have several very expensive lenses for it - so for me it makes sense to purchase the KM digital.

Very mature

There is only one post inbetween your posts so that seems like an attack on amba_gambla.

He is entitled to his opinion just like the rest of you(and that is directed at everyone, not just the post I have quoted). Whether or not he is right or wrong there is no need for personal attacks from anyone.

If anyone feels that a post is personal, then just report it to abuse. That is what it is there for.

Thought we were all grown ups on here, not kids in a schoolyard!!
I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here :)

but Apple never said it was a misprice, just a stock issue.
Not in writing, but verbally. I have a recording of the lady at Apple saying they were not able to supply the items for the incorrect price and that they would go on price again but at a higher price.

I wrote to Apple, but have received no reply...

In what way does Thirdfox's post demonstrate or represent a personal attack against another forum memeber.

Your claims are unfound, espically after the righteous speech you gave and attempted to display.

If you felt Thirdfox directed a personal attack against another forum member, why not do as yourself suggested and report him, very mature to single him out and degrade him based on your own false interpretation. Practice what you preach.

so I'm not sure what you're chatting about.....
• Everyone has their own opinion, yes I agree, and so have I. So no, I'm not going to stop posting in this thread.

If you agree, why do you still insist on enforcing your beliefs on others.

True you have every right to express your view, but looking back on your post you have persistantly repeated the same thing over and over again.

Sure have your say, but does it really require you to repeatedly post with the same unconstructive and sometimes malicious reply.

This is beyond an opinion, people here are discussing this subject in a civil manner and sharing ideas, it does not require you to get on their backs and start forcing questions of morality and decency upon them and tell them what is wrong and what is right.
You have expressed your opinion, you have expressed your moral concerns regarding this, you have have expressed how annoyed you are with the continuation of this thread. Just leave it at that.

I don't think I've been forcing my views upon anyone. I've been having my say, and I've also been defending my character from people making accusations. It's a debate, you'd expect to read some views you don't like in a debate, and I accept that. In each and every debate you get differences of opinions.

I'm not forcing my views upon anyone here. I'm representing views of some old-timers of this site. People who have been around a long time and have experience of this kind of thing. I'm offering advice/opinions of people who have been through this kind of thing before and have real experience of it.

This is a moneysaving site, and I wouldn't recommend people to be going to small claims courts and spending their money in pursuing this as a poster above has suggested. IMHO that is a waste of money, and of time.

And as for the suggestion of unconstructive and mallicious replies, liek I said before, if you don't like it, eitehr PM me and ask me to do something about it, or email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com
• If you look throught this site at previous misprices and mistakes (whatever they were) - trust me there are hundreds of threads - you'll find that there were many people who took up the offer, the miltant few that took it and threatened leagal action, and eventually find that nothing - yes nothing has ever come of it. Even if you were to make it to court, you would be crushed like an insignificant bug by the big evil corporation.

That is if you ever get to court. TBH I think you'd be laughed out before you ever reached the front steps of the courthouse.

I have also been watching this thread for a long time, and am glad that there are still people who are prepared to stand up against the big corps - this IS a consumer revenge site, after all.

You are incorrect about nothing comming out of all the other mis-prices, have a look at the Currys x-box with free games:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=124766

Determination has paid off for these consumers.

And no, no-one will be lauged out before reaching court - it is a small claims court, and you get your day whatever.

so if people aren't actually going to go to curt in case they get embarrassed by apple, what's the point in going on about legal action then!
As it seems that i am the only person going to court i am certainly not embarrassed byt he thought of losing. The main talk on this thread for taking apple to small claims court has come from me in the last few days and therefore that is why we are talking about it (not sueing though - completely different subject).
