so are you sueing them for not admiting they've made a mistake....
you starting to see how silly all this looks now???0 -
Amba_Gambla. I think everyone here has listened to and respected your opinion on this matter and it has been noted. It would probably be in everyones best interest if you just left the thread alone to people who are interested in getting an update and who really are interested in the matter. If the arguing continues then I fear the thread will be closed and nobody will benefit from that.
I have written a letter to Apple to explain how dissapointed I was to have been assured on the phone that my order would be dispatched only to recieve a cancellation email a few days after. For this reason I for one would be interested to hear about how others who have pursued this issue on their own accord are getting on with it.
So please just let it be and rest assured that people have listened to your opinion but have decided to continue on their own course. I look forward to your valued posts in the future.
ps. sorry for my poor spelling.0 -

I don't mean to be blunt but it's not fair to pick on something when you obviously know little about it.
I may be a student - part-time at that - but i have the money to do something about these 'events'.
Unfortunately the people who screamed most at the beginning have left this debate to those who understand what has happened, because they are all mouth and no action.
The hardcore remain!
 monster
and you are as hard as they come davilown...lol ..but in all honesty i wish you well. They are hard shower who obviously are prepared to play hardball all the way .
Last week the phone call when they tracked me down to the school i work in it really was a eyeopener.I think with hindsight they really did come down the hard man approach ..though in a pseudo nice way .......BUT thier whole persona changed when i asked about the call being recorded and how they couldnt without my permission..
i say this because while it clearly demosnatrates that they play rough .....they dont seem to play wise ......perhaps they are there for the taking...
may i also make the suggestion that you make contact with the journalist
http://networks.silicon.com/webwatch/0,39024667,39155426,00.htm
who carried the online stories ..perhaps he may offer some advice for carrying on with you campaign ..or follow your story through..its apity that others havent come back and rallied around.....
for my part i take the small comfort in that perhaps me.. henry carey as quoted in the article made apple squirm for just a second.0 -
If you look throught this site at previous misprices and mistakes (whatever they were) - trust me there are hundreds of threads - you'll find that there were many people who took up the offer, the miltant few that took it and threatened leagal action, and eventually find that nothing - yes nothing has ever come of it. Even if you were to make it to court, you would be crushed like an insignificant bug by the big evil corporation.
That is if you ever get to court. TBH I think you'd be laughed out before you ever reached the front steps of the courthouse.0 -
anyone else still got the camera in their order status ? mine's not been cancelled and ive not had any contact from apple for ages.0

small claims procedure you pay your money and a lot less than the 98 quid the camera would have cost .no lawuers required .....and you have your day in court ..guaranteed if apple decide to contest it that is..if not you win by default.
so you see the court route isnt the scary option that you think ...not even that costly .....HOWEVER as i sated earlier its such a grey area and apple may win the day and i couldnt stomach that0 -
so if people aren't actually going to go to curt in case they get embarrassed by apple, what's the point in going on about legal action then!0

I have sat and watched this thread for some time now!
If this thread closed down , then partly you can blaime yourself for that!
Talk about stirring!
Everyone has an opinion, let them have it !
If they wanna do something about it, then let them do it!
This isn't about gaining stars, or how long anyone has been on this site.
This is suppossed to be a friendly money saving site helping each other out, now please PLEASE let's all stick together!0 -
Hi, haven't posted here in a looong time!
The Irish forum has forgotten all about this issue.
Personally I've stopped trying (since I'm too busy studying law - ironic!)
But Apple did send an e-mail to me saying that having contacted Olympus themselves they have been told that the E-1 digital camera will shortly be discontinued.
"Loss of bargain through misrepresentation" still seems a good option if you want to take a court case (especially since this bypasses T&C 2.6).
I wish you guys luck. And if you succeed I can still sue (we have an 18 month period where we can decide to proceed with legal action or not.)
On a side note did anyone hear of the news that Konica Minolta have decided to stop making cameras? Sad day for the camera marketcomments offered by myself do not constitute (nor do they replace) professional legal advice.0 -

That's a very personal attack for an open forum., If you have a problem with me personally, then I'd prefer you'd PM either me directly with it, or if you think it's so badly out of hand, email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com .
Everyone has their own opinion, yes I agree, and so have I. So no, I'm not going to stop posting in this thread.
You say everyone is entitled to their opinion, and then you ask for everyone to stick together. That's not entitling everyoneto their own opinion. I have had PM's from people who share my view that this is going too far, and that it should just be dropped so ppl can move on, but they feel uncomfortable about posting here because of the reaction they may cause.
I'm not bothered about stars or post numbers. I post in this thread because it is my view on the matter. like i've said before, I've wasted time on these misprices before and it's much better to learn from someone else's mistakes than to learn from your own.
And again:....This is suppossed to be a friendly money saving site helping each other out....0
