I've tried this several times now (i am a student too) and I always got the full price charged for it. I can't see anywhere where its £98

Apple removed it on the 30 december - This thread is closed meaning that the item is no longer available

    Cheers

  • What do you mean? Where are they selling the E-300? Just on the normal apple store. I read the post you did (above) and thought "blimey, if they are back Apple will be in trouble!" I went to look, saw an olympus, thought "wahoo!" then posted. However, I looked back soon after and realised what a numpty I had been, nevermind.

I'm still not certain that class actions exist in UK law.

The key issue here is that Apple debited credit card accounts, money changed hands and therefore a claim could be made for loss of bargain (see FIL6971's earlier post .... somewhere.)

Purely in the interests of consumer knowledge, it would be interesting to read how Apple respond to a solicitor's letter or perhaps a communication from Trading Standards ;-)

'....please be advised that your order was placed subject to apple's T&Cs on the apple store education site. Clause 2 of those T&Cs provides that even if apple has accepted your order, it is entitled to cancel your orderwhere apple is unable to supply the product listed in the order confirmation.'

'In relation to the Olympus EL1' ?? E1 Maybe? 'orders from apple customers greatly exeeded the stock of cameras held by apple. Further, Olympus has now discountinued its ER! digital camera....'

    What do you all think?

Personally, I believe a legal approach could now begin, although not certain

    Cheers

Not likely, Unless we can prove that T&C they are quoting are different than what was shown at the time of the order. We all know they fiddled T&C after they were unable to supply the E1s. Now we just need to what exactly they changed in T&C to be able to make this claim

But if demand exceeded supply then surely they should have supplied with whatever they had in stock at the time to some customers. Another blatant lie from Apple.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
