I for one would ask for this thread to remain open for a while longer .
I await a written response from apple regarding how they have badly mistreated cutomers.

If you placed an order and subsequently had it cancelled and had contacted apple by phone to ask why and then waited for aweek to be reimbursed you would realise that the way apple treated its customers was unacceptable on this occassion.

apple has had several opportunities to come clean over this matter. On each occasion apple declined to make a comment.

regardless of this it would be wrong if this thread was allowed to be closed by the childish antics of a few who obviously have no interest in it other than to cause ill feeling.

I ordered two, (one at my fiance's parents address and one at mine) got both credit cards charged and refunded, i do have an interest in things, however, it aint gonna happen, so i'm getting on with my life

To be honest I was very close to closing this thread having just read the last couple of pages. However, this is obviously a very popular thread and it would be a shame for people to be able to use it to discuss the latest developments.

What I will say however, is that aggressive or personal comments towards other MSE'ers must stop right now. I will check this thread again soon and if there is no improvement, I'll have to consider locking it permanently.

It appears that there are two categories of person who had an interest in this "sale".

Category 1:
Those who "purchased" a camera and do accept that Apple's Terms and Conditions cover them to the point that Apple had a right to act the way they did.

Category 2:
Those who "purchased" a camera and don't accept that Apple's Terms and Conditions cover them to the point that Apple had a right to act the way they did.

Now, unless someone in cat 2 is prepared to put their hard earned cash where their mouth is, this one could rumble on forever.... Or at least until the next, misprice/no stock item.

Apple's T&Cs don't cover this because they had the stock, although they are now denying it. This, IMHO I believe, was a straight forward misprice. While people still moan that this thread is still going on, it is important to note that the people on this thread who want apple to honour this deal are already putting their money where their mouth is. We have all written letters to apple UK and await their reply. Without this, we would not have a leg to stand on in small claims court for 'loss of bargain' claim.

Until we get these replies, this bitter interchange between some members is going to carry on unless those who are trying, albeit inadvertantly, to bully us into stopping what we believe is right.

Yes we are quite happy to take the banter involved, but please stop this barrage of, in some cases, abuse, just because we want to do this even though others don't agree.
