I've started this thread so you can discuss the xbox misprice on the Currys website and the cancellation situation that seems to be happening. Posts regarding this on xbox availability updates thread will be moved over here so that one doesn't get clogged up with chat and just remains for the actual stock availability situation.
Thanks

jimbo19 wrote:mmmm Just been on the phone to ask why they cancelled my order , and they said because it was a misprice on the website . I pointed out to them at the time I ordered it said Xbox 360 + 5 "FREE" games , so was therefore not a misprice. All the guy kept saying was order was cancelled due to website error. He then said order would have been cancelled anyway as they are out of stock , at which pint I said I would be happy to wait for stock , and he then just said it was a website error again ???
Asked to speak to his supervisor or cancellations department and he wouldn't put me through and just kept saying there was nothing they could do
Where do I stand with this - I know that the contract is legally binding only when you recieve the 3rd email and money taken from card , which hadn't been done yet .
But as far as I am concerned it was not a misprice !! Free means free - surely ?

if it said free - you coudl argue that their was no pricing error
the sku code for the item listed was 785201 which if currys check is an xbox 360 at 209.99
along side this in the box saying item(s) added to product were each item listed with the word free at the start of each
thats the approach I will try anyway0 -
anhyone got screen shots of the 209 price?0

The order shows discount on all the games and accessories , but I didn't get the screenshot of the original page either0

Hi I have just received this:
Dear Dixons.co.uk Customer,
Thank you for placing the above order. Unfortunately due to a technical error
with our website the price shown for this package was incorrect. The price
should have been £499.99 and not £209.99 as stated.
We are sorry for any dissapointment this may cause but we are unable to confirm
your order and will refund your debit/credit card as per our Terms and
Conditions.
The supply of Xbox 360 is strictly limited in the UK but should you wish to
purchase this package the remaining few will be available on our website
tomorrow morning.
Once again we apologise for any inconvience caused
Kind Regards
deVere Forster

what I am confused about is if they have taken the money from my
card is this legal?0 -
trading standards are saying that taking payment constitutes a contract. They said I have a good case against them, especially as the console was rrp and the games were offered as free.0

yeah if the money was taken then the contract is binding? if you have a statement that proves that currys took your money you may have a case0
