I shouldnt laugh but when u mentioned undies not on top of the pile, totally digressing from debt free, butthought Id give u all a laugh.

Back when I went to Mexico in 2001, (at the time it was when the foot and mouth saga was on), as it was my 1st long haul, I must of packed, repacked about adozen times, (was working then and no child), so as a treat brought myself new posh undies etc, just checked the suitcase for the final time, and realised I'd packed old faithful underwear but not my new stuff, so piled it on top of clothes.

Got into Cancun airport, big notice saying everyones hand luggage is being searched and random suitcases, sods law my suitcase, this Mexican bloke opens the case, 1st thing is pulls out is my new black and purple lace underwear set, holds them up in mid air and says someone will be lucky, I went scarlet, he never bothered with the rest of the case!! xx

Love it!! I can imagine your face - priceless!

    Well,

Something in me is changing. I don't know what it is exactly but I feel different. I feel calmer, relaxed. Almost content.

The only thing that I am doing is sticking to my new years resolutions (mostly)

I am definately reading more (I read Twilight in 2 days...)
I have been knitting more but in fits and starts. I now have 6 squares for my throw finished (I think)
I have been getting on with The Big Clearout rather well - slowly, but thoroughly. I have found the secret to be audio books. I like to be told a story, that's why I would watch tv rather than clear up. I have been working on my rooms in a way that I can have people in to look at the windows and get a date for getting my double glazing fitted ASAP. But listening to an audio book, I get loads done and don't feel like I am missing out at all. Also, you can't think about anything else really when reading and I find listening to the audio book has the same effect.

This new, not thinking about things (well, over thinking/worrying) I have been on a much more even mood. The swing has settled so to speak.

I have not given in to take away yet. I have cooked (not always healthily, but it's a start)

I have not been exercising as such but as I've not been sitting in front of the tv I am going to count it.

As for the active social life one, well... I'm out tonight with a good friend, tomorrow is a work night out (small one) and am hoping for a romantic pub crawl (yes, I'm sure it is possible) with OH on Saturday. I will be setting spending limits for each night as per budget, any extra can roll over but I can't dip into the next nights money - gosh, I do like rules, don't I?!

Hopework for class... lets ignore that one!

Fortnight in and I am sticking to my resolutions and feeling a benefit. This must be a first!

I better get back to work.

    Hi KT

I read your thread a few days ago, and subscribed, and now you've posted a big update, well, I have to come out of lurkdom, don't I! So hello :hello: its good to meet you! I missed this cos I am absolutely *disgraceful* at using the User Control button too much, but just wanted to say how good it is to read what you're doing. I'm another one that really liked your Things To Do Before I'm 30 list - and I'm sorry you felt exposed, but what it exposed was a really thoughtful, vivid personality who's got an awful lot going for them. I started a list myself (in categories I'm afraid :o I like rules too) and might post up some of that on my own diary thread when I make a new one. Mine would have to be a Bucket List, before I kick the bucket, like in the film, as I have no intention of reminding myself *quite* how old I'm going to be at the next big birthday.

The knitting, btw - good for you! I'm trying to knit for the first time in a long time, a little jumper for a great nephew. Translating the pattern has proved the biggest challenge, but the knitting thread on the OS board has been great..

    Good to meet you!

It's good to meet you too!

I can only knit squares, or variations on squares... anything else frightens me! I was all impressed with myself when I managed a different colour in the middle of one of my squares for the first time. It's fun though!
