managing to be on more today cause work is quiet and as bad as this may saound, I'm doing as much personal stuff on my quiet day as possible. I don't really like this place any more...
I need a change... or another holiday.
I'm afraid I do that too, my personal stuff in work time. It's horrible when you don't really like your job, isn't it? The problem being, there's not much out there as an alternative at the moment.
At least you're saving on heating....

Just popping in to say hey and see how you are getting on. how is your course going.
Might as well get personal stuff done at work whilst its quiet, just think though, once you are qualified from your course you'll have a much better job.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

I've just had to tell my boyfriend that I can't travel with him to leeds in February to celebrate his dad's 50th. It was going to cost £76.60 per person and I just don't have that spare(and not that is should matter but that was more than I spent on my own dad's 50th). It could pay a chunk of my course. But that means for the 4th year running we're not going to spend Valentines day together. Good job I don't go in for the most commercial of all the holidays, eh?
I wasn't 100% sure about going and I now think he think's thats why I'm saying I can't afford it. I genuinely can't though, not really. He even said, "you weren't 100% sure about going well you are now free."
They're all going to think I'm a cheapskate and I'm left upset.
He is saying it doesn't matter, but it mattered to me.
I'm not having a very good day and now all the music on my (free) mp3 player has got depressing too!:hello: - Proud to be dealing with my debts!:j DFW nerd No. 1011!

I'm sure no-one thinks you're a cheapskate lovely. You're upset quite rightly so, but you can't afford it, £76 is a lot of money. I'm sending lots of dodgy hugs...but without the dodgy dot icon, because I can't find it
Fast forward the sad music.....and think about having a Valentine's dinner on another date.

Thanks piq - I really needed that. I called my mum and had a short moan and she did her best to listen but then I had to leave work. I've been in a rubbish mood all day and I think it has really shown. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow in a much sunnier/sparklier/more 'KT'ish mood. xI'm sure no-one thinks you're a cheapskate lovely. Sweetheart, ur not being unreasonable about the £76.00 its a damm lot, and thats a gd % of the mortgage.
Sorry work going so bad, any news on the courses yet?, they might be the thing to put the sparkle back into work.
Hope tomorrow goes better xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
For Andan, Piq and anyone else that has asked, here is a quick update on how my course is going.
For those that don't know I have been in the process of studying to be a sign language interpreter for as long as I can remember. It is a long and very expensive process if you don't happen to have a spare ~£9000 lying around (roughly how much it would cost from start to finish if you don't do any extras... over about 4 or 5 years if you space it out sensibly)
I am currently doing a course that should give me either a level 3 or level 4 BSL certificate (depending on my interview and how hard I work) and has another part that is focused towards signing in education as a communication support worker.
I am nearing the end of the communication support (or education support work - ESW or CSW) part of the course with only a few more assignments. Personally I have found the assignments for this (I want to say easy) not easy, but very straight forward for anyone who paid attention in the class. I have a couple of finnishing touches to add to the question papers that are due in on Saturday and I'll be done until the next piece of written homework.
The other part of the course is that part that I am not getting enough practice in. The BSL (British Sign Language) part of the course. I love learning Sign Language and I'm one of the freaks on the planet that loves linguistics. But I know I am currently a little rusty and will need to practice more if I am to jump the level 3 and get my level 4 (rare but can be done and will be rather MSE as a level 3 alone costs ~£900). The best way to practice is with native users, ie Deaf people. I know some people but not enough and have not been getting to spend enough time using the language.
This is always going to be a problem. If you are learning Spanish you go to Spain to get imersive practice, right? You can't go to Deaf-land.
So that is where I am at.
Sorry if this was a rather long slog to read but thanks if you did.
I best get on with the day job... Chemistry here I come.

Is there a (cant think of the new pc name for it) special school near you you could volunteer at for a couple of hours a week? Or have you tried googling for hearing impared support groups, or asking your doctor if they know of any in your area? Maybe if you dropped them an email they would be happy to help, I mean if anyone is a bit lonely they might like just having someone to chat to for half an hour twice a week or whathaveyou, or you could go to some of the sessions to get you signing more often if they invite you.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
