The internet is a wonderful thing. I've just printed off the instruction manual for the slow cooker. Wasn't sure on the settings and timings for it, and there's 26 receipes in it. :j

Think I shall be trying a few of them out. I love slow cookers. They really are my kind of cooking.:D
I'm thinking of asking santa for one - woud you recommend slow cookers then?

I've got a Morphy Richards one which I've used a bit on and off. I don't use it as much as I probably could but it's handy to have. I've been told that I can use my bottom oven as a slow cooker so might try that.

Gah being pestered by the children to feed them...blimy!

Everyone banished.. trying to get DD1 out of bed so she can do her stuff and I have a list of stuff I want the rest of them to do when they get back from God Squad..

Cats fed, face fed, fish fed.
    WM's both on

Trikers list... Stop greedy children from eating 25 buns and nothing else and leaving none for the others..

DD1's list.. Ice buns, go to shop for party bags and bread, make up pass the parcels & party bags. In charge of music.

Sisters list.. In charge of supervising party games

My list.. hide in kitchen with bottle of vodka and a box of ibuprofen and a box of co-codamol... running on pain killers today so in an absolutely FOUL mood until they kick in.. which they haven't yet..

    Morning all

DH is cleaning the study :D - it will be perfect as he's much more thorough than me, and it hasn't been done for weeks months as he's been studying in there all the time so I haven't managed to do it. I'm deciding which room to make a start on first, probably the bedroom I think, then kitchen. want to do the extra bits that don't usually get done. Won't bother with a list, but will report what's done. first job is to strip the bed i think. I also need to nip out and get an advent calendar as I'm guessing looking at the time i've missed Froddy's kind offer!

lil-me - hugs, not a nice thought, we'll support you all the way
soappie - glad you're feeling better
pigpen - hope the party goes well and let me know if you want that charger

You've got the same one as me then.
Have you tried any of the receipes in the instruction booklet?

:D I did what I always do with recipes... read them, think mmmmm that sounds nice, and then abandon the recipe and do my own thing!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The tips on the thread "I'm disappointed with my slowcooker" were the most useful though.

    I've made:
    Goulash (Granny Trudie's recipe)
    Bolognaise
    Jamaican Stewed Beef
    Chicken in tomato/red wine sauce
    Lamb breast casserole
    Lamb chops in gravy
    Chilli
    Beef casserole

Can't think what else.... but it's ace! :D

  • All going well here today.

    Mr Shattered has:
Sorted out his wardrobe and chucked out loads of stuff.
Sorted through his diabetes monitors (of which there are many) and slung the obsolete ones.

[STRIKE]Sorting out washed and folded clothes upstairs
    Breakfast
    Piano practice DD1 & 2
    WM x2
    TD x1[/STRIKE]

    Off to put on BM

ETA: GOOD LUCK today Pigpen. Hope it's lots of fun, and the pain killers do their job!
