    Hi everyone

I haven't been on here in a while, and I think i've missed you all because I just feel so carpy at the moment. I feel like bursting into tears half of the time and I don't have much idea why. I don't seem able to find time to do anything, everything I try to do for OH doesn't go right, and I haven't really made many friends at uni, i failed my driving test, have just found out we have heriditary bowel cancer in the family, I can't keep up at uni, I feel stressed all the time. The flat is a mess because I just can't find the energy to do anything so haven't done any flying in about 2 weeks.

Sorry about moaning, I feel awful for offloading all this onto you lovely people, but I just need a chance to get it off my chest. Oh dear. The waterworks have begun.

Hope everyone is having a better time than I am, love and hugs to those that need them xxx

Pink fairy has given you some wonderful advice.. don't be so hard on yourself and make everyone ele chip in as well. you are not a slave and you are doing this to create a better life for everyone they should be helping you and appreciate that fact.

Stick with us, even if to offload occasionally

Can i just ask a quick question... for all you flyladies who drive - Roughly how many lessons did you take?

I think that BSM used to recommend twice your age so at 17 you would need 34 hrs; at 25 you'd need 50hrs etc

Looks like it's changed now "The Driving Standards Agency recommend that learners should have about 40 hours of lessons and another 25 hours of practice to be ready for the test"

    (((hugs))) poohbear59

I'm now having my brekkie! :o after shutting the curtains and S&S the kitchen first. Think it'll be a takeaway night tonight. I'm on a real slow go today. I'm gonna go put the washing in the TD in a sec [strike]and then get on with some baking (hopefully)[/strike]

    Nikki x

PS Pigpen I cant do the Xmas card thing either. Even just e-cards would be too much :o I do realise that I wouldn't be expected to send to everyone but I'd only be able to do a few and having over 100 people having my address would be just weird. If anyone wants to do a swap PM me for my address ;)

Johanne - 100 lessons (c£1600), three tests, over about five months when I was 27 or so. I can't walk straight, have no spacial awareness, and can't do two things at once so I am an extreme case. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the average is 1.5 times your age.

Five good things? I can read very quickly, I am analytical, I remember conversations, I listen, and I cheerfully and willingly make sacrifices for the people who matter most to me.

Toots I think you are honest, generous with your time, empathic, friendly and supportive.

Soappie, hope you are feeling a bit better, there are a lot of colds around. Hugs for all the ill people!

Lady Liberty - a delicate suggestion but is private treatment an option? When DH did his back we had PHI but we saw the bills, including scans, consultants, physio, fairly major surgery and a couple of nights in a bupa hospital came in at about £3k. Sorry if this has offended you but it was less than we expected (and incidentally was less than we had paid out in PHI costs over the five years!).

Been to work, collected boys, WM is on but I need to empty DW, and get several more loads on. Really need to hoover yet again as one of the dogs is moulting.

Flower.. wonderful wonderful news about the rebate... I hope it really makes christmas a special time for you all this year instead of fretting about how to afford it!

Thanks for that, it really has helped take the stress - really weird, but I was sitting down this morning to work out what we could/couldn't pay and whether we could still have the break we so desperatly need - even put it on my list - this couldn't have happened at a better time (and I'm still jumping up and down and can't wait till hubby gets back in his car so I can tell him too - he doesn't know yet as I can't have a phone on in work and I don't know the office number... I can get him by phoning HO if an emergency tho, but don't think they will class this as an emergency tho...:rotfl: )

  • Well I made it back from M&S –no I haven’t been there all day, but ran in dumped shopping and had to go out again for an afternoon class.
Got what I wanted but prob. spent savings on a fancy cardi:eek:

SS – rest ! No, feeling like that you could not have coped with M&S. It was heaving by the time I finished.

L-L agree with the others, try for a cancellation.
Flower – brilliant news about the rebate
Johanne – aaawww!!!! Hope your neighbour can get the wall sorted.
    Oj – great news
Carol22 – hugs. Can’t add to the advice given already (esp. Pink Fairy). Just keep coming here. Support guaranteed. And you can moan at us and get it out of your system. (I failed my driving test first time too and I wouldn’t like to be taking the one you have now)
    soappie Take care of yourself.

Apologies and hugs to anyone I have missed

Evening all, just managed to catch up you chatty lot!

Big hugs Carol22! It would be worth emailing your mentor or DOS, if they're anything like mine they'll be lovely and really helpful.

I think there are some hugs and woopees in order so I'll say them now.

Came home from work at lunchtime today. I think I have either a v. v. nasty cold or the flu. Everywhere aches. I got into bed as soon as I got home and just lay there shivering. Now I'm burning up. I don't know what to do with myself so I hope you'll forgive me for not flying

Hugs Soappie - go get yourself lots of rest and maybe have a nice bath to help you - take care of yourself and get well soon...:A

G&B - good luck with your exams, fingers crossed for you hun x x x
