hi everyone
i have been using a mix of 1 cup grated soap, 1 cup of washing soda and 1 cup of borax for about 6 months now all i use is 1 tablespoon per wash and keep the rest in a sealed container, this leaves my clothes nice and clean and lovely and soft i dont even bother with fabric conditioner now as it is so soft :j even though it is dried indoors on a airer im not bothered about it smelling all nice from a conditioner if i dont need it and i certainly dont need the extra expense!
as my washing machine is on at least 2/3 times a day i reckon i have saved myself a small fortune!proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0 -
After using the ecover and soda crystals for a while its not getting all stains out. I was really pleased with the smell and that its environmentally friendly but I think I will have to go over to the 3 powder wonder stuff! I've got some powder left from before I switched to ecover and I have some value bio powder as well as the trusty soda crystals, so will give it a go!
Has anyone seen the soda crystals with orange oil? Would that be any good for washing or would it be just as cheap to buy the normal stuff and orange essntial oils?0 -
Where do you get the sc with orange halloween, and how much is it?Pawpurrs x0

I saw it on the website mentioned earlier - mind you the website was pricey - I just wondered if anyone had actually seen it instore anywhere, it looks like it comes in a tub rather than the bags.0

Am I on the right place for washing using vinigar?
I used it instead of softner but what went wrong? My washing isnt as soft and seems more creased. did I not use enough or are you supposed to use part and part.
i must admit though that it doesnt smell of vingar at all which really suprised me. I was ready to have to rewash it - untrusting person that I am.The curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0 -
Hi all
Apologies in advance if this has been answered elsewhere - I haven't read all the 8 pages in depth, just scanned most of the answers.
I recently bought olive oil soap in bulk (6 chunks of 600g each). My husband tried to chop one block into slices to make reasonably small soaps to use in the bathroom, but the wretched thing shredded itself like if it was glass!
I was left with a few usable lumps and a LOT of shreds of soap. I have soaked it in warm water and at long last I seem to have some sort of gloop - how do I use it?
Thank you!!!

Tesco have reduced their 3kg box of value powder to £1.49 was £1.63 which made it cheaper to buy the 1kg at 50p. They are also doing their tesco biological washing powder 1kg (with built in fabric conditioner - I got summer fresh) which is what I use as my good powder in the 'recipe' at £1.63 but at the moment its 2 for £2.50. Their soda crystals are still 51p I think. So you get 4kgs of superb washing powder which smells nice for £4.52:D0
