kiwichick??? Im also tempted to try this out but ive nothing to mix the stuff in and too lazy to take a bit out of each when i want to wash.

Its going great, I've not noticed any difference in the cleanliness and willcontinue to do it this way.I chucked it in an old quality street tin which holds 3kg.

    Hi All,

Just a quickie to say again how chuffed I am with this mix. I've been using it since the 28th of December, at least one load a day, sometimes 3 if its bed changing day and I'm not quite half way through yet!!! So, 3 weeks washing for about £1.09, using my pre MSE tesco liquid wash I would have spent £6.90 by now!!!!

How Old Style and Money Saving is that?!?

I think that the fairy household soap would be the one.
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T
  • I also have been using the crystals and powder mix, its going great, I did find though that the clothes weren't getting that fresh smell, so I now add a bit of ASDAs own fabric conditioner.

I do have a question though, I was wondering if the crystals would take the colour out of some clothes after prolonged use?

Spend so far £230!! (Ohhh my days HELP) still got almost 2 weeks left!!
  • Hi, i have been doing this mix now for months, and have not noticed any problems with colour fade.

I can't categorically (sp?) state that it's safe, but as i'm using less of the washing powder there's less bleaching agent i suppose?
  • Thanks so much for this idea - i started mixing my own powder and have been using it since december and not even half way through it. If i had been using my previous liquid i would probably be on my 3rd bottle of it by now. This idea has saved me a fortune. Thanks so much

  • Must say thanks to kittie, bought the ecover and more soda yesterday and the clothes came out really clean, smelt nice, soft and 'felt' clean.
I've tried the gloop and didn't get on with it, so I'm chuffed with this one, will save the rest of the powder I've got in case I need to do any 90d washes.
So for £3 (might be able to get stuff cheaper elsewhere) I got the two things and judging by how little of the ecover liquid it actually uses this tip should save me £'s.

I just mixed the remnants of my Ecover powder with an equal quantity of washing soda today. Just the usual amount got some muddy jeans really clean.....and I am one for overloading the machine too. I am impressed!
