Tesco's in a green bag it was 30 something pence about 1 KG
I'll try Tesco for soda crystals. I've been using them half and half (soda in drum and powder in drawer) for weeks now with good results. Today I did my Asda shoppping and, guess what. no soda crystals! And also for those who post on other boards, no lentils except expensive organic ones.0 -

Either is fine. They are also really good for general cleaning, I washed my bathroom and kitchen floors in a mild solution this morning and they come up a treat. It's up to me now and nobody else.0 -

Wish I could find soda crystals that cheaply!
I have found them very effective with stains as well - I have got blackberry stains all over a cloth bag of mine and I just put it in a basin of cold water with a little bit of soda crystals in and thought "I'll have a go and deal with that later if I can". Two hours later - went to take it out and deal with it - didnt have to, the stains had gone already. Would imagine blackberry stains are normally thought of as impossible to deal with - judging by the woman who spotted my stained bag and commiserated with me that I would have to throw it away! Wrong!0 -
Soda crystals? Brilliant stuff!! Dissolved in warm water and left on cooker stains which have gone gummy, they solve a quite difficult problem. Use gloves though. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government

My 'recipe' for laundry...1 tbspn cheapo washing powder and 1 tbspn soda crystals 55p bag in Asda in the ball, put in the drum. Add 1 squirt of Stardrops in the drawer 67p bottle in Asda -
(but that's another story lol, see here... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=354039)
again about 1 tbspn, turn machine on to lowest setting, and it even cleans football kit :T !
Total cost is less than 4p a wash and it all comes out stain-free.

Having failed in Asda, I looked in Somerfield and their soda crystals were about 60p a kilo. I know they have other uses (I use mine for drains) but if the soda is more expensive than value washing powder is there any saving to be made by using it?0
