Aren't there some rules with mail order about not debiting accounts until the goods are shipped ?0 -
I also purchased separate accessories for the Nikon 5200 from Amazon and ebay. I telephoned Apple to ask how I would be compensated. I have been promised a call from a superviser within 4 hours (by 9.10 this evening, lets wait and see). I am disgusted by their service and will be writing to Watchdog. Roll on their next program!0

So they have taken money off all of you then cancelled?
Right if one of you has the "courage" (and £30) to take legal action PM me and together we will sort this out for everyone; I'll take care of the legal side of it and 99.999% make sure you get your £30 issue fee back too.
If the lovely researchers at Watchdog (the ones with the real power!) report this on the beeb and lend some pressure on Apple to be honourable then i for one will salute Messrs Bradbury and Campbell from now on..0 -
Rather annoyingly considering I put it in the e-mail tip, it seems many people are finding that once they order this item from Apple, after ordering and money being debited they are then being told the order has been cancelled. As such I wanted to put this warning in. This happens occassionally with high demand. It is a very poor show by the Apple store. I know BBC Watchdog are looking at this and I'm chatting to them about it - please be very careful.

PS. Tesco has a £50 5Mb digital camera on sale, though it doesn't have the optical zoom this one had..... see thisMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

I was told last night that my camera would be dispatched on the 11/1. Today I receive an e-mail saying it has been cancelled. To date, my credit card has not been charged. I too have purchased accessories for this camera so am very annoyed.0

I had my order cancelled today too, shame I was really looking forward to getting it. I've seen the Nikon Coolpix 5600 plus a free Kingstone card for £149. Can anyone please tell me how this compares

Dawn_Hour wrote:How is it compared with the HP R707?
Which one is better and why?
I have the 5200 and the R707. I'd say the R707 handles better, has a superior menu system, has the edge in shooting modes and IMO has a higher build quality. (And also some nice accessories such as the cradle).
Optically there's not a lot between them.
If you know were R707's can be bought for £90 let us know!0 -
I think pressure should be brought to bear on Apple to supply the cameras at the stated price when new stocks arrive.0

An interesting development......
