Had a letter today from Debt agency... and it's not my debt!! so sending later saying I don't acknowledge etc etc... what a pain, there always seems to be something to trip me up!!

ha ha thanks!! Not long to go really - and I'm working Thursday Evening so more money!! Annoying I've left my Barclays Pin Machine at home so can't check my bank balance, because I probably will be getting paid for work that I have done in these last weeks - I want to update my "money earned" section... instead all I can update is money spent!!
Maybe I should try and motivate myself by thinking up some February Challenges?
What should I allow myself to spend?? £120 - that's £30 a week!?Debt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270 -
Well here's a kick up the !!!... could be being made reduntant... therefore more important to get debt gone quickly...

kick up the bum indeed! I always say that these things happen for the right reasons, even if they don't seem like it at the time. You have your head in the right place now, compared with a couple of years ago, and so you can get through whatever is thrown at you now.
I hope that redundancy doesn't happen (unless it comes with a mahoosive payout, in which case I hope it does!), but if it does, I know you will deal with it in a way you would never have been able to deal before.
And as you say, all the more reason to batter that remaining debt down beforehand.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Yes I'm kind of torn between a massive pay out to pay off my debts or just keeping my job.... I think either way at least I have my debts under control at the moment, and the fact that the majority is owed to my parents also means that I can prioritise bills etc over without too much worry... not what I'd like to do though!!
So plan of action? Well SOA for a start... Nat gave me the link over a week ago so I really should get onto it now!!
Am working tonight (even though I have a horrid cold!) and now Saturday Night as well... so another £40ish coming my way - still have forgot my online banking pin machine so no balance check for a while... eek!Debt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270 -
sorry to hear that you may be made redundant, it's worry that nobody needs really isn't it. I've not been on the boards properly for a while so missed your comment about when you start spending it just escalates, that's my problem as well. did really well for a few months only putting petrol on my card, this month i start spending and the bill is going to be huge, so strangely enough my Feb month is going to be a lot squeakier than Jan was. argh! well i supose at least now have the tools to sort it.0
-
It feels like every month is squeaky for one reason or another doesn't it!! But February is a shortish month and I'm sure that we can budget our way through... and is it this month that we get a council tax break?
I don't think there isn't a MSE who hasn't slipped up over spending one month or another - but as much as we want to get out of debt, got to enjoy life as well every now and then... so long as we're still on the debt free road... it's a long road after all!!!!Debt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270 -
